How to treat long-term pain in my right foot after a nail prick that has worsened over time? - #54963
Almost 30 years back nail prick in my right side foot very long back after that the pain start whole right side slightly nowadays the pain increased more. Is there is any treatment to reduce the pain.
Doctors' responses
Old nail injury can aggravate Vata and may also involve nerve irritation. Since pain is increasing after many years, also consult an orthopedic doctor once to rule out nerve, spine, or retained foreign body issues. Ayurvedic treatment (short): Yogaraj Guggulu – 2 tablets twice daily after food with warm water for 2–3 months. Ashwagandha Churna – 3 g at night with warm milk. Mahanarayana Taila – gentle massage on painful side daily, followed by warm fomentation. Avoid cold exposure, excessive walking, and dry foods. If burning, numbness, swelling, weakness, or difficulty walking is present, get examined soon.
Since the pain started after a nail prick and has slowly increased over many years, it may be due to old nerve irritation, scar tissue, chronic inflammation, or Vata aggravation affecting the nerves and muscles on that side. Because the pain is now worsening, it would be good to once rule out: Nerve involvement Old retained foreign body/scar issue Spine-related nerve compression Avoid excessive walking barefoot and avoid strain on that foot. At home: Daily warm sesame oil or Mahanarayan oil massage on foot and leg followed by mild heat Soak foot in warm water with a little rock salt for 10 minutes in evening Gentle stretching of calf and foot muscles can help circulation. Yograj Guggulu – 1 tablet twice daily after food Dashmool kwath – 15 ml with equal warm water twice daily Ashwagandha tablet – 1 tablet at bedtime These help reduce chronic Vata pain and improve nerve-muscle strength gradually. Since the issue is very old, improvement may take time and consistency. If there is numbness, burning, weakness, or difficulty walking, then a physical examination is important.
