Dry cough after a viral infection is quite common and can be relieved with simple Ayurvedic remedies. Here are some suggestions for your son: 1. Give him a teaspoon of honey mixed with a pinch of turmeric powder twice daily. This will soothe the throat and reduce irritation. 2. Boil water with a few tulsi leaves, a piece of ginger, and a pinch of black pepper. Strain it and let him sip this warm herbal tea 2–3 times a day. 3. Steam inhalation with a few drops of eucalyptus oil or plain water can help clear the airways and reduce dryness. 4. Apply warm sesame oil to his chest and back before bedtime. This helps ease the cough and promotes better sleep. 5. Avoid cold or refrigerated foods and drinks. Offer warm soups or light meals that are easy to digest. If the cough persists for more than a week or worsens, consult an Ayurvedic practitioner for further evaluation. Wishing him a speedy recovery.
