It sounds like you're dealing with a common issue that many people experience. Gaining weight easily despite eating less often relates to imbalances in your digestive system and, according to Ayurveda, it might involve your dosha. From what you've described, it seems there may be an imbalance in Kapha dosha and Agni (digestive fire). Constipation and feeling full often could indicate a sluggish metabolism or digestive issues, which can certainly affect weight management. To address this, let’s focus on improving your digestion and balancing your doshas. First, consider adding certain spices to stimulate your Agni. Ginger and black pepper, for instance, can be very beneficial. You can start by consuming a small piece of fresh ginger with lemon juice and a pinch of salt before meals. Since you experience constipation, including more fiber-rich foods like green leafy vegetables, whole grains, and fruits would be helpful. A simple remedy is to soak a teaspoon of triphala powder in water overnight and drink it in the morning, which can aid bowel movements. Ensure you're drinking warm water throughout the day, as it helps to stimulate digestion and assists in flushing out toxins. Pungent and bitter tastes generally pacify Kapha and should be included in your diet. Foods like radish, fenugreek, and turmeric can be incorporated. Also, avoid dairy, sugar, and cold food which tend to increase Kapha and could aggravate your symptoms. Engaging in regular physical activity is crucial. Please try to include at least 30 minutes of daily exercise, whether it be brisk walking, yoga, or some form of aerobic exercise. Pay attention to meal timings. Avoid eating late at night, aim for meals to be 3-4 hours apart to not overwhelm your digestion. Also, ensure you're eating the largest meal during midday when digestion is typically strongest. It's important to understand that while supplements might offer quick solutions, they will not address underlying issues and can have side effects. Focus on long-term lifestyle changes based on Ayurvedic principles for sustainable and healthy weight loss. In case symptoms persist or worsen, seeing a healthcare professional is crucial to rule out any underlying conditions that could require further investigation and treatment.
