Addressing recurrent vaginal infections such as yeast infections, internal itching, and UTIs from an Ayurvedic perspective involves understanding the root causes linked to your unique constitution, or prakriti, and making targeted lifestyle changes. Here’s what might help:

First, consider balancing your doshas, particularly pitta and kapha, which could be contributing factors. Begin by incorporating a pitta-pacifying diet, focusing on cooling foods like cucumber, coconut water, and watermelon. Avoid spicy and oily foods that tend to aggravate pitta. Also, reducing sugar intake can help as yeast feeds on sugar.

Hydration is key; ensure you drink plenty of water, but also consider herbal infusions like coriander or fennel seed water, which can help flush out toxins. Simply soak a tablespoon of either seed overnight and drink the water first thing in the morning.

Probiotics are important for maintaining the balance of flora in your vagina. Try including homemade yogurt or fermented foods like sauerkraut into your daily meals. But watch for commercial products that often contain hidden sugars.

Avoid douching and harsh soaps that can disrupt the natural pH balance. Instead, use a gentle, natural based soap for cleansing.

Wear breathable cotton underwear and loose-fitting clothing to prevent excess moisture, which can exacerbate infections. And it’s vital to practice proper menstrual hygiene by changing sanitary products regularly.

Herbally, you might consider guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia), which supports immunity, and turmeric, known for its anti-inflammatory properties. These can be easily incorporated into your meals or taken as a supplement if needed.

Lastly, consider stress management techniques like yoga or meditation, as stress can weaken the immune system, making infections more frequent. The right routine hinges on a holistic view of your daily lifestyle and constitution. If infections persist, consulting with an Ayurvedic practitioner will offer tailored solutions specific to your situation.
