Thanks for sharing your detailed history — it’s really helpful. A 12 cm asymptomatic uterine fibroid (on posterior wall) is large but still manageable, especially since you are not facing heavy bleeding or pain. However, scanty periods and delayed cycles indicate hormonal imbalance or uterine lining changes caused by the fibroid’s pressure. Since this began only recently, early intervention can help you avoid surgery and manage it naturally. Basic Investigations to be done: 1. Pelvic Ultrasound (TVS preferred) – to monitor fibroid size, location, and endometrial thickness. 2. CBC – to check for anemia. 3. Thyroid Profile (TSH, T3, T4) – thyroid issues can affect periods. 4. Serum FSH, LH, Estradiol, Progesterone – for hormonal status. 5. Serum Vitamin D & B12 – to rule out other deficiencies. 6. CA-125 (if family history of reproductive cancers) – only as precaution. Internal medicine: 1.Sukumaram Kashayam 15 ml with 30ml ofwarm water before food twice daily.(For scanty menses, hormonal imbalance). 2.Ashokarishta 15 ml with equal water twice daily after food .(Regulates periods, balances hormones) 3.Kanchanara Guggulu 2 -0-2 twice daily after food. (Reduce abnormal growth) 4.Rajahpravartini Vati 2-0-2 after food with warm water. Diet & Lifestyle for Shrinking Fibroids ✅ Favour: Warm, light, easy-to-digest foods Ginger tea, turmeric, cumin-fennel-coriander infusion Cow’s ghee (small amount daily) Steamed vegetables, moong dal, pomegranate, beetroot ❌ Avoid: Curd/yogurt at night Red meat, packaged food, cold drinks Soy products. Late-night sleep. Asanas to be practiced daily: 1.Supta baddha konasana 2.Setu bandhasana 3.Malasana 4.Bhujangasana 5.Ushtrasana May your recovery be quick and your health fully restored. Please don't hesitate to reach out for further guidance. With kind regards, Dr. Sumi

I am a dedicated Ayurvedic practitioner with a diverse foundation in both modern and traditional systems of medicine. My journey began with six months of hands-on experience in allopathic medicine at District Hospital Sitapur, where I was exposed to acute and chronic care in a high-volume clinical setting. This experience strengthened my diagnostic skills and deepened my understanding of patient care in an allopathic framework. Complementing this, I have also completed six months of clinical training in Ayurveda and Panchakarma, focusing on natural detoxification and rejuvenation therapies. During this time, I gained practical experience in classical Ayurvedic treatments, including Abhyanga, Basti, Shirodhara, and other Panchakarma modalities. I strongly believe in a patient-centric approach that blends the wisdom of Ayurveda with the clinical precision of modern medicine for optimal outcomes. Additionally, I hold certification in Garbha Sanskar, a specialized Ayurvedic discipline aimed at promoting holistic wellness during pregnancy. I am passionate about supporting maternal health and fetal development through time-tested Ayurvedic practices, dietary guidance, and lifestyle recommendations. My approach to healthcare emphasizes balance, preventive care, and customized wellness plans tailored to each individual’s constitution and health goals. I aim to create a nurturing space where patients feel heard, supported, and empowered in their healing journey. A 12 cm fibroid does require careful attention, even if it's asymptomatic for the most part. The scanty menstrual flow and irregular periods could be a sign of the fibroid affecting your menstrual cycle. In Ayurveda, fibroids are often linked with an imbalance in the Kapha dosha and possibly an aggravated Rakta (blood) and Meda (fat) dhatus. Working on balancing these could he helpful. First, aim to consume a Kapha-pacifying diet. This means incorporating warm, light, and easily digestible foods. Reduce intake of dairy, sugar, fried, and oily foods that can aggravate Kapha. Spices like turmeric, ginger, and cinnamon may help balance your dosha. Include warm, cooked vegetables and legumes in your meals. Try drinking warm water throughout the day; it aids digestion and helps reduce Kapha accumulation. For lifestyle, regular physical activity is essential. Engage in moderate exercise for about 30 minutes daily, such as walking, yoga, or swimming. Avoid sedentary lifestyle and stay active as much as possible. In terms of herbal remedies, Ayurvedic texts frequently mention Ashoka (Saraca asoca) and Lodhra (Symplocos racemosa) for managing menstrual health issues. You can prepare a decoction of these herbs or consult an Ayurvedic practitioner to determine the right dosage for your constitution, as each individual's needs might be different. Panchakarma therapies, under the guidance of an Ayurvedic doctor, can further assist in detoxifying and balancing the doshas. Treatments like Basti (enema therapy) and Virechana (purgation) can be beneficial, but they should only be undertaken with professional supervision. Stress management and adequate sleep are also critical, as they influence hormonal balance. Practice meditation or calming breathing exercises to help maintain emotional balance. Remember to consult with your healthcare provider alongside these practices to monitor the condition and adjust treatments as necessary.

Even if asymptomatic now, large fibroids can potentially cause -compression on nearby organs-bladder, rectum - fertility issues -heavy bleeding or scanty/irregular cycles - pain or bloating AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT 1) INTERNAL MEDICATIONS -KANCHANAR GUGGULU= 2 tabs twice daily after meals with warm water =scraping, kapha meda hará, anti tumor, lymphatic detox, reduces abnormal growth like fibroids -PUSHYANUG CHURNA= 5 gm with rice water twice daily in morning and night = corrects menstrual flow especially for scanty or irregular periods , balances vata and pitta -ASHOKARISHTA= 20 ml with equal water twice daily after meals =regulates menstrual cycle, supports endometrial health, reduces uterine congestion -CHANDRAPRABHA VATI= 2 tabs twice daily with warm water = supports reproductive organs, reduces fibroids, improves metabolism -LOHASAVA= 15 ml with equal water after meals twice daily =helps control excessive uterine growth and balances hormones 2) PANCHAKARMA THERAPIES these detoxification therapies may be suggested depending on body constitution -UTTARA BASTI= medicated oil enema through the vaginal route- often recommended for uterine disorders -VIRECHANA= helps cleanse the liver and balance hormones -ABHYANGA + SWEDANA= oil massage and steam therapy to improve circulation 3) LIFESTYLE ANND DIET TIPS AVOID= dairy, red meat, refined sugar, and estrogen rich foods like soy FAVOUR= fibre rich foods, green leafy vegetables, turmeric, ginger MANAGE STRESS through yoga, pranayam especially nadi sodhana, bhramari -Maintain a healthy weight-oestrogen dominance is often associated with fibroids Although you're asymptomatic , scanty periods and 12 cm fibroid merit regular monitoring with -pelvic ultrasound every 6 months - hemoglobin levels -hormonal profile-FSH,LH,ESTRADIOL etc THANK YOU DR.
