Dear K.R., I can understand your concern about PCOS But dont worry we are here to help you out😊

You have been facing PCOS since many years, with symptoms of: Acne Facial hair growth (hirsutism) Irregular periods Skin issues (possibly psoriasis/cyrosis)

☑️REGULATING MENSTRUALCYCLE AND OVARIAN FUNCTION 1 Kanchanar Guggulu 1-0-1 – helps in shrinking cysts and balancing Kapha.

2 Ashokarishta – 30ml-0-30ml with equal water after food for regulating cycles.

3 Shatavari kalp – 1 tsp with warm water at night; nourishes reproductive system.

☑️ FOR ACNE AND FACIAL HAIR (Hormonal Balance)

1 Manjishtha Churna – ½ tsp twice daily with warm water; purifies blood, reduces acne.

2 Triphala Churna – 1 tsp at night with lukewarm water; improves digestion and clears toxins.

👉Spearmint tea (modern herbal research supports this) – can help reduce facial hair growth.

☑️FOR. SKIN ISSUES (Psoriasis / Dryness)

1 Neem + Turmeric powder – ½ tsp each daily with warm water; excellent for skin detox.

👉Regular application of coconut oil externally for skin nourishment.

✅ Diet & Lifestyle for PCOS

✅ Include: Warm, freshly cooked food: green vegetables, moong dal, whole grains. 1 tsp flaxseeds daily – helps regulate hormones. Fruits like pomegranate, papaya, and pears in moderation.

❌ Avoid:

Dairy (especially curd at night), refined sugar, junk food, bakery, and fried foods. Excess stress, late nights, and sedentary lifestyle.

✅ LIFESTYLE AND YOGA

Practice seed cycling with pumpkin, flax, sunflower, sesame seeds for hormonal balance.

Yoga: Surya Namaskar, Baddha Konasana, Malasana, and Pranayama (Anulom-Vilom) daily.

Maintain healthy weight – even 5–7% weight reduction improves PCOS symptoms.

With consistent lifestyle changes + Ayurvedic medicines, periods become more regular in 3–6 months.

Acne and facial hair reduce gradually as hormones rebalance.

Skin issues like psoriasis improve with detox and blood purification.

Complete reversal is possible in many women if Agni, hormones, and cycles are restored naturally.

Wish you a good health😊

Warm Regards Dr Snehal Vidhate

HELLO,

PCOS is a condition where the ovaries produce many small fluid filled sacs(cysts) and the hormones get imbalanced. This leads to -irregular or missed periods -acne, oily skin -extra facial/body hair (hirsutism) -difficulty in conceiving sometimes -weight gain in some, though some women are lean with PCOS

Ayurvedic view -caused by imbalance in kapha (heaviness, mucus, sluggishness) and Vata (irregularity, dryness, hormonal misfiring), sometimes aggravated pitta (heat, acne, inflammation) -weak digestion -> toxin formation-> blocks reproductive channels -fat tissue increases and disturbs hormone balance -thus, cycles stops being regular, cysts form, and skin/hair issues appear

TREATMENT GOALS -Restore cycle regularity (normalize menstruation and ovulation) -balance hormones naturally (reduce excessive androgens that cause acne/hair) -reduce cysts by clearing kapha and ama -improve metabolism and digestion (strengthen agni) -purify blood and skin (for acne, psoriasis- like dryness) -support fertility if pregnancy is desired later -prevent complications (diabetes, obesity, infertility)

INTERNALLY START WITH

1) KANCHANAR GUGGULU= 2 tabs twice daily after meals =reduces ovarian cyst, clears kapha

2) ASHOKAGHRITA= 1 tsp in morning with warm water =regulates menstruation, strengthens uterus

3) SHATAVARI CHURNA= 1 tsp with milk at night =nourishes reproductive system, balances hormones

4) TRIPHALA CHURNA= 1 tsp at night with warm water =detox, improves digestion, clears ama

5) KUMARYASAVA= 15 ml with water after meals =useful for irregular periods and liver support

6) MANJISTHA GHAN VATI= 2 tabs twice daily afte meals =purify blood, help with acne and skin dryness

DURATION= usually 3 months

EXTERNAL TREATMENT

1) OIL MASSAGE= daily with Nimba taila+ coconut oil =balances vata, nourishes skin

2) HERBAL PASTE= neem+ turmeric + rose water for acne prone areas

DIET -light, warm, fresh meals -barley, green gram, horse gram, millet, quinoa, -leafy vegetables, bottle gourd, ridge gourd, bitter gourd -spices= turmeric, cinnamon, fenugreek, cumin, black pepper -Nuts= almonds, walnuts, soaked not fried -fruits= pomegranate, papaya, apple, guava avoid excess banana, mango -herbal teas= cinnamon, ginger, tulsi, fenugreek water

AVOID -junk food, bakery, fried foods -excess dairy especially cheese, panner, curd at night -sugar, sweets, chocolates, soft drinks -red meat, processed food -excess sour/spicy foods worsen skin and pitta

LIFESTYLE -regular sleep= sleep by 10 -11 pm, wake up early by 6 am -Exercise daily= brisk walking, yoga or moderate cardio 30-45 mins -Avoid daytime sleep increases kapha -stress management= journaling, meditation, chanting, positive routine

YOGA ASANAS (help ovaries, uterus, hormones) -supta baddha konasana -bhujangasana -dhanurasana -ustrasana -paschimottanasana -malasana

PRANAYAM -bado sodhana= balances hormoes -bhramari= calms mind, reduces stress -kapalbhati= burns kapha, helps weight

HOME REMEDIES -fenugreek seeds= soak 1 tsp overnight, eat in morning- improves insulin and periods -cinnamon tea= regulates cycle, balances hormones -flax seeds powder= 1 tsp daily- reduces excess androgens, good for acne/hair -aloe vera juice= 20 ml on empty stomach= regulates hormones -turmeric + warm milk at night= anti inflammatory, good for skin

PCOS is reversible with consistent Ayurvedic management, lifestyle changes, and patience

Focus is not only on the ovaries but the whole metabolism

It usually takes 3-6 months for noticeable results

Skin issues are connected with internal imbalance-> once metabolism and hormones are balanced skin also clears

Ayurveda aims to “reset” your system from the root- not just control periods but eat metabolism, skin, hormones, and mind together

DO FOLLOW

HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL

THANK YOU

DR. MAITRI ACHARYA

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) often involves imbalances in hormones and metabolism, which can lead to symptoms like acne, facial hair, and irregular periods. Ayurveda views PCOS as a kapha and vata imbalance with possible pitta involvement, affecting your dhatus, especially rasa and rakta. While completely reversing PCOS may be challenging, certain Ayurvedic approaches can effectively manage symptoms and promote overall balance.

To address PCOS, focus on dietary and lifestyle changes. Incorporate warming, astringent, and slightly bitter foods to balance kapha and vata. Favor vegetables like leafy greens, broccoli, and carrots, while limiting heavy, oily, and cold foods. Emphasize whole grains like quinoa and millet, and incorporate legumes for protein.

Regular exercise is crucial; engage in activities like brisk walking, yoga, or a favorite sport for at least 30 minutes daily. Sleep between 7 and 8 hours is important for hormonal balance. Avoid excessive screen time before bed to enhance sleep quality.

Herbs like Shatavari and Ashwagandha can support hormonal balance and reduce stress. Drink a tea made with fenugreek seeds and cinnamon to aid metabolism. Use a liver tonic such as Triphala to support detoxification and hormonal balance.

As for your skin issues, psoriasis could be linked to your hormonal imbalances. Both conditions may share underlying causes such as stress and lifestyle factors. It’s essential to keep skin hydrated with coconut or almond oil and avoid harsh chemicals in skincare products.

To enhance skin health, consume amla or fresh fruits rich in antioxidants. Neem can be applied topically to help with skin lesions, providing antibacterial and anti-inflammatory relief.

Continous monitoring and consultation with a healthcare professional is advised. If symptoms persist or worsen, seek immediate medical attention.

The symptoms you’re experiencing – such as acne, facial hair, and irregular periods – are common with PCOS, which is understood in Ayurveda as an imbalance of your body’s Vata and Kapha doshas. To address this imbalance, consider starting with dietary adjustments. Favor foods that are light, warm, and gently spiced to support your digestive fire, or agni. Incorporate plenty of fresh vegetables, whole grains, and moderate amounts of healthy fats like ghee which aids digestion and helps in stabilizing your hormonal flow. Avoid processed foods, excess sugar, and cold or heavy meals.

Herbs like Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus) and Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) can be beneficial for balancing hormones and reducing stress, a key factor in managing PCOS. Take these under the guidance of an Ayurvedic practitioner, who can help determine the right dosage based on your prakriti.

Your skin issue, potentially referred to as psoriasis, could be interlinked, as both conditions may stem from a systemic imbalance and weak agni. Incorporate turmeric (Curcuma longa) in your diet for its anti-inflammatory and detoxifying properties. You might also consider neem (Azadirachta indica), traditionally used for its skin-supportive benefits. Applying a paste of turmeric and neem on affected skin areas might help soothe inflammation.

Regular yoga and pranayama practices that encourage circulation and relaxation can further support you in this. Gentle poses such as Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose) and Uttanasana (Forward Bend) enhance hormonal balance when performed consistently. Seek immediate medical attention if symptoms worsen or dramatically change to ensure comprehensive care.
