It’s common for antidepressants to impact sexual health, even after discontinuation, as the body may take time to restore balance. In Ayurveda, erectile dysfunction (ED) is often linked to an imbalance in Vata and depletion of Shukra dhatu (reproductive tissue). To rejuvenate and restore vitality, focus on a nourishing diet, including almonds, dates, and warm milk with herbs like Ashwagandha and Shatavari, which support energy and reproductive health. Herbal formulations like Vrihat Vatchintamani Ras or Kapikacchu can also be helpful. Incorporating regular Abhyanga (oil massage) with sesame oil and practicing stress-relieving techniques like yoga and meditation can aid in recovery. Consult an Ayurvedic physician for a tailored approach.

Alright, let’s dive into this. It's no fun dealing with ED, especially if it's tied to meds. Antidepressants can mess with your prana, the life force, and your vata can get disturbed. Though you've stopped the medication, your body might still be in recovery mode. Don’t stress though—stress can make it worse. First off, it's about rebalancing your doshas, particularly vata and pitta in your case. Warm, nourishing foods can help here. Think of cooked veggies, rice, and soups—these'll be easier on your agni (digestive fire). Avoid too much caffeine or processed sugars—they can stir things up too much. Ashwagandha and Shatavari are great herbal allies in this journey. A spoonful of Ashwagandha mixed with warm milk before bed can be both calming and rejuvenating. Shatavari kalpa (which you can find in Ayurvedic stores) taken in the morning, mixed with milk, can also work wonders. Now, start incorporating yoga and pranayama… but don't overdo it. Just keep it simple and regular. Even a few rounds of Nadi shodhana (alternate nostril breathing) and some gentle stretches like bhujangasana (cobra pose) can be helpful. They maintain the flow of prana, preventing stagnation that can lead to ed problems. Try adding regular abhyanga (self-massage) with warm sesame oil to your routine. It’s grounding and calms vata. Also, make sure you sleep well—regular hours, wind down before bed. Less screen time helps relaxation, better sleep and reduced mental clutter. If none of this seems to help, or symptoms get worse, it’s crucial to talk to a healthcare professional. There’s no shame in it; sometimes, that extra check-in is what's needed. Keep in mind, healing's a journey, not a race. With a bit of balance and patience, you'll get there.
