Whooping cough, or “kali khansi” can be quite persistent. If you feel that the standard medicines aren’t doing the trick, you might want to consider incorporating some Ayurvedic strategies to complement your current treatment. First, it’s vital to address any doshic imbalances potentially present. In Ayurveda, cough issues are often linked to an imbalance in the Kapha and Vata doshas.

One immediate step you can take is adjusting your diet. Avoid cold, heavy, and oily foods as they can aggravate Kapha. Increase intake of warm, easily digestible meals - freshly prepared soft gruels like hot rice water or moong dal soup might give relief.

Additionally, a traditional remedy involves ginger and honey. Take a half teaspoon of freshly grated ginger with honey twice a day. It can help soothe the throat and boost digestion, reducing cough symptoms. Licorice root, known as yashtimadhu, boiled in water and consumed twice daily can also offer relief, due to its soothing properties.

Incorporate pranayama breathing exercises, like Anulom Vilom, in your daily routine which helps strengthen your respiratory system. However, avoid any strenuous physical activities that might irritate your throat.

Lastly, ensure adequate rest and maintain hydration by sipping warm water throughout the day. If you haven’t already, please consult your health practitioner for a personalized health plan that considers your specific needs and current condition, ensuring that it blends well with your existing medications.

Also, ensure you’re staying away from cold, damp environments, and extremely dusty areas, which can worsen your condition. Timely professional medical evaluation remains essential - if symptoms escalate or fail to improve, seek medical attention immediately.
