At age 62, the loss of sensation is due to Vata degeneration and restricted blood flow. We must stimulate the nerves to restore sensitivity.

Medicines 1 Vanari Kalpa (Kapikachhu): 1 teaspoon mixed with warm milk, twice daily after food. 2 Ashwagandha Churna: Add ½ teaspoon to the milk above. 3 Chandraprabha Vati: 2 tablets twice daily after food.

External Therapy Shri Gopal Tailam: Apply 5-6 drops on the penis and massage gently every night. This oil is specifically designed to cure numbness and restore nerve sensitivity.

Lifestyle Advice Ashwini Mudra (Kegels): Contract and relax your anal/pelvic muscles rhythmically (like holding back urine). Do this 50 times daily to pump blood into the pelvic nerves. Eat Dates and Almonds daily. Add 1 tsp Ghee to your lunch to lubricate dry nerves.

Hello I‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ can understand that loss of sensation in penis is very stressful to you. But dont worry we are here to help you out😊

YOUR CONCERN

You are experiencing: - Reduced / absent sensation in the penis - Duration: 2 months - Age: 62 years - Existing medicines: Ecosprin Blood pressure medicine (25 mg) Thyronorm 50 mcg - No diabetes - No mention of pain, discharge, or ulcers

AYURVEDIC UNDERSTANDING

According to Ayurveda, penile sensation is mainly governed by: - Vata dosha (especially Apana & Vyana Vata) - Majja dhatu & Shukra dhatu - Proper nerve nourishment and blood circulation

The condition at your age is mostly due to: - Vata vriddhi (age-related nerve dryness) - Reduced pelvic circulation - Long-term medication effect - Thyroid imbalance contributing to nerve sluggishness

This situation is more or less the same as Vata-pradhana Klaibya / Shukra-Vaha Srotas Dushti, where initially sensation reduces more than erection.

The good news: Since the duration is only 2 months, the reversal is possible with Rasayana and Vata-shamana therapy in time.

TREATMENT GOALS

1. Nourish penile nerves 2. Improve pelvic blood circulation 3. Balance Vata dosha 4. Strengthen Shukra & Majja dhatu

INTERNAL MEDICATION (Safe with BP, thyroid & ecosprin when taken as advised)

1. Ashwagandha Capsule 1 capsule twice daily after food Strengthens nerves and improves circulation

2. Gokshura Capsule 1 capsule twice daily after food Improves pelvic blood flow and urinary-genital health

3. Brihat Vata Chintamani Rasa 1 tablet once daily With honey or warm water Best medicine for nerve sensation loss

4. Ksheerabala 101 Capsules 1 capsule at night Deep Vata-pacifying and nerve rejuvenating

Duration: Continue for 4 weeks, review after that

EXTERNAL THERAPY (VERY IMPORTANT)

Abhyanga (Local Massage) Oil: Ksheerabala Taila Method: Put in a few drops Lower abdomen, groin & penis areas gentle massage Once daily, preferably at night Improves nerve conductivity & sensation

DIETARY GUIDELINES

INCLUDE Turmeric pinch and warm milk at night Ghee (1 tsp daily) Almonds (2 soaked) Dates, figs Soft, warm cooked food

AVOID

Excess cold food & drinks Dry, packaged food Excess tea/coffee Late night meals

LIFESTYLE ADVICE

Do not sit for a long time Moderate walking for 20–30 minutes daily Temporarily refrain from over sexual stimulation Wear warm clothes (Vata aggravation worsens symptoms) Practice Ashwini Mudra (if comfortable)

INVESTIGATIONS ADVISED (If not done recently)

Thyroid profile (TSH) Vitamin B12 Doppler penile blood flow (only if no improvement)

EXPECTED IMPROVEMENT

Tingling or mild sensation may return in 3–4 weeks Gradual improvement over 6–8 weeks Better confidence & nerve response

IMPORTANT NOTE

Please do not discontinue your BP, thyroid, or ecosprin medications unless you consult your physician first.

Warm regards, Dr Snehal ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌Vidhate

Thank you for contacting Ask Ayurveda…. At 62 years of age, reduced penile sensation along with erection difficulty is commonly seen due to reduced blood circulation, nerve sensitivity, and hormonal changes. Long-term BP medicines, thyroid imbalance, and age-related changes can contribute to this problem. improvement is possible with proper Ayurvedic support.

Internally you can start on

Ashwagandha capsule 500 mg – 1 capsule at night after food twice daily Gokshura guggulu – 1 tab twice daily after food Shilajit capsule (purified) – 1 capsule once daily in the morning after breakfast with warm milk Bala capsule 500 mg – 1 capsule once daily after food

These medicines help improve nerve strength, blood circulation, penile sensation, and erection quality.

Lightly massage the lower abdomen, thighs, and genital area with warm sesame oil 3–4 times a week before bath to improve local circulation.

Please maintain a gap of 30–45 minutes between Thyronorm and the above medicines. Avoid smoking, excess alcohol, ( if applicable) and very tight undergarments.

You will start noticing improvement in sensation within 4 to 6 weeks and gradual improvement in erection over 6–8 weeks with regular use.

With regards to Dr prasad

Loss of sensation in the penis could be related to various factors such as medication side effects or circulatory issues. Considering your age and existing medications for blood pressure and thyroid, any Ayurvedic remedy should be chosen cautiously with your doctor’s supervision.

Primarily, focus on promoting healthy circulation. Incorporating light exercises like walking can improve blood flow, aiding in sensation recovery. It’s essential in Ayurveda to ensure that your vata dosha is balanced, as imbalances might contribute to nerve-related issues.

Include warming foods like cooked vegetables, soups, and whole grains that stabilize vata. Avoid too much caffeine or raw foods which can aggravate vata. Herbs like Ashwagandha and Shatavari may support nervous system health, but consult with your health care provider before introducing them, given your current medications.

Gently massaging the lower back and pelvic area with warm sesame oil may help improve circulation and nerve function. Practicing relaxation techniques such as meditation or gentle Pranayama can assist in reducing stress and improving overall circulatory health.

Hydration is also important; water properly aids in maintaining good circulation. Drink adequate quantities of warm water throughout the day.

These steps are supportive but given the nature of your concern, it’s essential to have a medical evaluation even if you find some relief through these Ayurvedic suggestions. Loss of sensation could signal something needing specific attention, so ongoing communication with your healthcare provider is vital. Always prioritize medical advice, particularly due to your comprehensive health background.
