Struggling with Weak Digestion and Weight Loss - #50412

Client_8a28aa

I have a problem of weak digestion since 8 years, due to I lost 25 kgs of weight in these last 8 years. I eat sufficiently but nothing is showing. I have tried multiple medicines like (Shankhvati, Hingwashtak etc.) Such medicines show improvements but only 5-10%. My stool quality hasn’t been normal since 8 years, it’s thin and small. Apan vayu is also disturbed. My skin and hair are very dry, which was full of moisture before. I get burps all the time, but not acidic. My sleep has become very fragmented, I hardly sleep more than 6 hours. Which drastically improves with some medications. Asav and Arishta help but it gives me heat while taking it in, and alsp disturb my sleep. My hunger is variable. But I never lost interest in food. I have no loose motions at all, but constipation due restricted Apan vayu, not classic constipation. I need a solution.

How would you describe your appetite?:

- Variable, sometimes hungry

What is the consistency of your stool?:

- Thin and small

Have you experienced any stress or emotional changes during these 8 years?:

- Not sure

HELLO, Based on your symptoms, this is clearly a chronic Vata-predominant digestive disorder with Apana vayu dysfunction , associated with long standing agnimandya (low digestive fire) and likely dhatu kshaya (tissue depletion) Your key signs -25kg weight loss over years -thin, small stool (apana obstruction, poor bulk formation) -excess burping (vata in urdhwa direction) -dry skin and hair (rasa + rakta dhatu depletion) -fragmented sleep (vata aggravation in majja dhatu) -variable appetite -heat intolerance to asava/arishta (pitta sensitivity under vata) This is not simple indigestion. It is long standing vata vyadhi of annavaha and purishavaha srotas ROOT CAUSE PATTERN -Vishama agni (irrgular digestive fire) -Apana vayu avarana (blocked downward movement) -poor nutrient assimilation (grahani the picture without diarrhea) -progressive dhatu depletion Because stool is thin (not hard pellets), this shows poor formation of Mala due to weak absorption and dryness- not classical constipation TREATMENT IS DIVIDED INTO PHASE PROTOCOL. jumping directly to strong digestive medicines will worsen dryness PHASE 1= VATA STABILIZATION FOR 4-6 WEEKS GOAL= restore lubrication + regulate apana vata DAILY SUPPORT -warm water only -no raw food -no cold food -no dry snacks -no fasting MEDICINE PROTOCOL 1) AVIPATTIKAR CHURNA= 1/2 tsp at night with warm water =regulates pitta without increasing heat 2) DASHMOOLA KASHAYA= 20 ml + equal water twice daily before meals =pacifies vata in lower abdomen 3) GHEE THERAPY (very important) -start with 1 tsp cow ghee in warm rice twice daily Increase gradually to 2-3 tsp per day Ghee is mandatory in your case PHASE 2= DEEPANA + MILD BRIMHANA After 1 month Once stool improves slightly and dryness reduces 1) SHATAVARI KALPA= 1 tsp with warm milk at night =restores tissues 2) VIDARYADI GHRITA= 1 tsp morning empty stomach =nourishes tissues + improves weight 3) Continue dashmoola PHASE 3= REJUVENATION After 2-3 months When digestion stabilizes 1) ASHWAGANDHA LEHYA= 1 tsp with warm milk at bedtime 2) Light warm sesame oil body massage 4 times wekly 3) NASYA= instil l2 drops of Anu taila in each nostril daily morning This will correct sleep fragmentation WHAT YOU MUST AVOID -Asava arishta long term they aggravate pita + dry tissue -dry fasting -excess spices -tea and coffee -late night sleep DIET MORNING -warm rice porridge with ghee -stewed apple with cardamom LUNCH -rice + moong dal khichdi + ghee -well cooked vegetales- bottle gourdd, pumpkin ridge gourd EVENING -thin moong soup or rice gruel ADD -soaked black raisins 5-7 daily -small amount of jaggery if no blood sugar issue SLEEP PROTOCOL -warm milk with nutmeg pinch at night -oil massage to soles before sleep or apply ghee -no screen 1 hour before bed Losing 25 kg over 8 years is significant must rule out- celiac disease, IBS, thyroid disorder, chronic malabsorption, parasitic infection KIDNLY DO THIS INVESTIGATION= CBC, thyroid profile, stool routine, vitamin B12, vitamin D Ayurveda works best when serious pathology is ruled out EXPECTED TIMELINE -Stool improvement= 3-4 weeks -sleep improvement= 4-6 weeks -weight gain= 2-3 months -full stability=6 months This is reversible but only with consitent unctous therapy DO FOLLOW HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL THANK YOU

1) Hingvashtaka Churna (mild dose, modified use) ¼ tsp with ghee before lunch 👉 You already tried it; ghee reduces dryness and excess heat, improves absorption. 2) Dadimashtaka Churna ½ tsp after meals with warm water 👉 Better for chronic weak digestion, gas, thin stools, burping; less heating than Shankh Vati. 3) Bilva Avaleha (or Kutaja Ghanavati – low dose) Small dose daily 👉 Helps improve stool form and intestinal tone (not for loose motions only; also for chronic thin stools due to weak gut). 4) Drakshadi Kashaya 15–20 ml + equal warm water, before meals 👉 Supports digestion + nourishment without heating (good alternative since Asava/Arishta cause heat for you). 5) Ashwagandha + Bala (either powder or Kashaya) Night dose 👉 For weight loss, dryness, Vata weakness, poor sleep, muscle/nervous system nourishment. 6) Castor oil (Eranda Taila) – very small dose ½–1 tsp in warm milk 2–3 nights per week 👉 For Apāna vayu regulation (not a harsh laxative; helps downward movement and stool quality).

Hello doctor, first of all thank you for not giving me AI generated answers like other doctors do straight away. Letting you know that my all the reports are normal. Including Colonoscopy - upper and lower. Also blood tests are normal too. I need to retrieve the reports, but you can trust me on the reports being normal.

No issues…have you gone for montaux test?

If your all reports are normal…then most probably I will consider it relatable to IBS as it is causing malabsorption and weight loss But not to worry Plz take Grahani kapat rasa 1 BD( with buttermilk only) Ajmodadi+ hinghvastak churna -1tsp-BD Kutajghan vati 1 BD when having diarrhoea For constipation take Tab zandu nityam 1 tab at night before sleep If you still having same issues…then I will recommend for personal consultation Thankyou

I feel completely fine. I don’t feel weak. I don’t have any past illness. No fever/no cough. I’m always energetic. I’m mostly drained because of less and fragmented sleep. My libido is down, which dramatically improves with som medicines. Sugar, BP everything is fine. My weight is 45 now. It stopped decreasing, as I eat mostly simple food like Dal Chawal and Khichdi. I also take random ayurvedic medicine, they feel good in my stomach somehow. Chitrakadivati, Shankhvati and churnas. I eat junk food too on occasions. The problem Is evacuation in the morning, I hardly get full normal stool. And too many medicines feel heavy in my stomach.

Ok Start with Ashwagandhadi lehyam 1 tsp with warm milk at night Haritaki churna one tsp with warm water at night

Mostly heavy, tight stomach like a wall, sometimes “sucked-in”.

Hi 🙂 Your problem sounds like long-term weak digestion with Vata imbalance, not just simple gas. Because you have weight loss, thin stool, dryness, and disturbed sleep, the goal should be to strengthen digestion gently and nourish the body, not only use strong digestive medicines. ✅ What you can do (simple steps) 👉 Eat warm, freshly cooked food (avoid cold, dry, raw foods). 👉 Take small frequent meals instead of heavy meals. 👉 Add 1 tsp ghee daily — helps digestion and dryness. 👉 Ginger with a pinch of rock salt before meals may help digestion. 👉 Keep regular meal timing. ⚠️ Avoid ❌ Too many strong digestive powders continuously. ❌ Very spicy or heating medicines if they disturb sleep. ❌ Skipping meals or fasting. 🩺 Important Since you lost 25 kg over years, please check: Thyroid Vitamin B12, Vitamin D Iron levels Stool test 👉 Main idea: Improve digestion slowly + rebuild strength, not just treat gas. If you want, I can also give a very simple daily routine for recovery 👍.
