For the past year, I’ve been experiencing joint pain, particularly in my knees and elbows. The pain started slowly, but it’s now making it hard to do everyday activities like climbing stairs or even holding objects for long periods. I’ve seen a doctor and been told it’s likely due to wear and tear, but the pain just seems to keep getting worse. I’ve been relying on painkillers, but I don’t want to keep using them long-term due to the side effects. I’ve read that Ayurvedic medicine might help with joint pain, especially with natural anti-inflammatory treatments. I’ve heard about herbs like Turmeric and Ashwagandha, but I’m not sure how effective they are for something like osteoarthritis. Are there any specific Ayurvedic medicines or therapies that can help with joint pain relief? How long would it usually take to start feeling better, and are there any risks or side effects I should know about?

You could try taking 500-1000 mg of turmeric supplement once or twice daily with meals. Make sure it contains black pepper or piperine, coz it enhances absorption.

Ashwagandha is another herb in Ayurveda, used to manage stress and pain, but its direct anti-inflammatory effects are gentler. Start with a lower dose, maybe 300 mg (preferably with meals), and see how your body reacts over a couple of weeks.

Another treatment to consider is Guggulu, often praised in Ayurvedic texts like Charaka Samhita for joints issues.
