After K-wire surgery, persistent stiffness and restricted finger movement are commonly caused by aggravated Vata dosha, which affects the joints, muscles, tendons, and nerve coordination after trauma. Ayurveda aims to restore smooth movement, reduce stiffness, and strengthen healing from within. Yograj Guggulu – classical Ayurvedic medicine that helps relieve stiffness, improves joint flexibility, and supports smooth finger movement. Mahayograj Guggulu – highly beneficial in chronic post-traumatic pain, nerve weakness, and muscular rigidity. Dashmool Kwath – reduces internal inflammation, swelling, and Vata imbalance responsible for restricted mobility. Ashwagandha – strengthens muscles and nerves, improves recovery, and supports overall tissue healing. Rasnadi Guggulu / Simhanad Guggulu – useful when stiffness is associated with mild swelling, pain, and reduced grip strength. Prefer warm, freshly cooked foods and adequate hydration. Avoid cold drinks, excessive dry foods, and long periods of inactivity. Continue gentle mobility exercises daily, as movement therapy combined with Ayurvedic medicines gives the best recovery. With regular Ayurvedic treatment and patience, gradual improvement in flexibility, grip strength, and finger coordination can be achieved naturally.
Post-traumatic stiffness after K-wire surgery usually needs long-term physiotherapy along with Ayurveda. Take Mahayograj Guggulu – 1 tab twice daily after food Trayodashang Guggulu – 1 tab twice daily after food Ashwagandha Churna – 3 gm with warm milk at night Bala Ashwagandhadi Taila or Mahanarayana Taila – gentle massage on shoulder, wrist and fingers daily followed by mild hot fomentation Dashamoola Kashayam – 15 ml with equal water twice daily before food Do daily finger bending, ball squeezing, shoulder pendulum exercise and physiotherapy regularly. Avoid complete rest of hand.
