At the age of 60, knee osteoarthritis is commonly related to Sandhivata in Ayurveda — a condition caused by degeneration of joints due to aggravated Vata and gradual depletion of bone and joint lubrication. Since diabetes and BP are already under control, Ayurvedic treatment can safely focus on reducing pain, improving mobility, and supporting sleep naturally. Ayurvedic Management for Knee Osteoarthritis Internal Ayurvedic Support Yograj Guggulu – helps reduce joint stiffness, inflammation, and improves movement. Mahayograj Guggulu or Trayodashang Guggulu – beneficial when knee pain is associated with neck and back pain. Shallaki (Boswellia) + Lakshadi Guggulu – supports cartilage and bone strength naturally. Ashwagandha at bedtime with warm milk can help reduce pain-related sleep disturbance and calm Vata. External Therapies Gentle massage with warm Mahanarayana Taila or Kottamchukkadi Taila over knees, lower back, and neck daily. Follow with mild hot fomentation for 10–15 minutes to reduce stiffness and improve bending. Panchakarma therapies like Janu Basti, Patra Pinda Sweda, or Kati Basti give very good relief in chronic osteoarthritis. Diet & Lifestyle Advice Prefer warm, soft, easily digestible food. Include sesame, garlic, ginger, turmeric, drumstick, methi, and cow ghee in moderation. Avoid cold food, curd at night, excess potato, bakery items, and prolonged sitting. Gentle walking and simple knee-strengthening exercises are helpful, but avoid overstrain. For Better Sleep Pain worsening at night indicates aggravated Vata. Before sleep: Apply warm oil to knees and soles. Drink turmeric milk with a pinch of nutmeg or Ashwagandha. Keep legs slightly elevated while resting.

Sitting directly under a fan or right in front of the A.C Oily, spicy, processed food. Packed food products. Sour and fermented items. Bakery items. Fried food products. Potatoes. ??Medication?? Tab. Raspachak Vati. 2 tabs twice a day before food. Tab. Sinhanad Guggul 2 tabs twice a day before food. Cap. Palsinuron 2 caps twice a day before food. Cap. Arnopen 2 caps twice a day before food Syp. Dashmoolarishta 3 tsp twice a day before food with warm water. Tab. Mahashankhavati 1 tabs twice a day after food. Suck and eat like hajmola Castor Oil. 3 tsp at bed time with a cup of hot water.
