I’m not entirely sure what sciatica is, and I’d like to understand more about it. From what I understand, sciatica occurs when the sciatic nerve is compressed, but I want to know exactly what causes this compression and how it affects the body. I’m curious about the different causes of sciatica. Could it be caused by a herniated disc, or is there something else that could be putting pressure on the sciatic nerve? I also wonder how long sciatica typically lasts. Will this pain go away on its own, or do I need to take specific steps to treat it? From an Ayurvedic perspective, I’ve heard that sciatica may be linked to an imbalance in Vata dosha, which governs movement and nerve function. If Vata is out of balance, could it lead to nerve compression or inflammation?
