Dealing with persistent acne can indeed be frustrating, especially when you’re maintaining a balanced lifestyle. It's important to consider that acne often isn't about just external factors—internal imbalances play a huge role too. From an Ayurvedic perspective, acne can be linked to excess Pitta dosha, which manifests in skin inflammation and impurities. First, addressing diet—even a healthy diet can be internally heating, which aggravates Pitta. Consider avoiding overly spicy foods, acidic fruits, and caffeine which can increase heat in your body. Favor cooling and soothing foods like cucumber, lettuce, and sweet fruits like pears and grapes. Drinking coconut water can help balance Pitta as well. Focus on hydration to boost skin health. Drinking water with a pinch of cumin seeds boiled in it cools the system. Make sure your bowels are clear every day, as constipation can aggravate acne. A teaspoon of triphala powder with warm water before bed can help regulate digestion and detoxifying processes. Topically, you want to soothe the skin with natural remedies. Neem paste and aloe vera are known for their anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Applying a simple paste of neem leaves on the affected area daily can help reduce acne. Aloe vera gel can be used as a gentle moisturizer. Given the weight loss you've noticed, it could indicate other underlying issues. Ensure you are getting proper nourishment—healthy fats from ghee and oils are vital. You might want to incorporate ashwagandha or shatavari as they help restore overall balance and vitality, but consult an Ayurvedic practitioner to determine what suits your prakriti best. Remember, every individual's body constitution is different, and what's beneficial for one may not be right for another. Regular Ayurvedic consultations could provide tailored insights into your specific imbalances!
