I have gained comprehensive clinical experience through my internship and professional duties, which has laid a strong foundation for my medical practice. During my internship, I worked extensively across multiple departments, including casualty, general medicine, general surgery, and obstetrics & gynecology at the Government District Hospital, Gadag. This exposure allowed me to handle a variety of acute and chronic cases, sharpen my clinical assessment skills, and actively participate in patient management under the guidance of senior medical professionals. Following this, I served as a duty doctor at AYUSH Hospital, Gadag Betgeri, where I applied my Ayurvedic knowledge in a clinical setting and contributed to patient care in both outpatient and inpatient departments. I successfully completed 366 days of rigorous internship training at DGM Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, Gadag, where I was involved in patient evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning under supervision. My time there allowed me to integrate classical Ayurvedic principles with practical patient care while developing a keen understanding of hospital operations and multidisciplinary collaboration. These experiences have enhanced my ability to handle diverse medical conditions confidently while maintaining a patient-centered approach. I am dedicated to continuing my journey as an Ayurvedic practitioner with the same passion and commitment, focusing on delivering quality, evidence-based, and holistic healthcare.

Vitiligo is a condition that can be challenging to treat, but there are ways to manage and improve the symptoms. Ayurveda views vitiligo as “Switra” or “Kilasa,” caused by imbalances in the body’s doshas, mainly Vata and Pitta, which disrupt the workings of the skin's pigment cells. It's important to focus on balancing these doshas and improving agni (digestive fire) to aid in vitiligo management. Encourage your friend to follow these personalized Ayurvedic strategies to help restore balance and address the root cause: 1. **Dietary Adjustments**: The diet should primarily consist of fresh, natural foods that are easy to digest, avoiding white-colored foods as much as possible, which are believed to aggravate the condition. Include a lot of leafy greens, whole grains, and pulses. Avoid sour and acidic foods like tomatoes and citrus fruits as these can increase Pitta. Limit intake of salty and spicy foods too. 2. **Herbal Support**: Some Ayurvedic herbs like Bakuchi (Psoralea corylifolia) are traditionally used for skin conditions like vitiligo. Applying a paste of the seeds on the affected patches and also consuming it after consulting an Ayurvedic practitioner might help. Turmeric mixed with mustard oil applied twice daily on the white patches is also recommended. 3. **Lifestyle Changes**: Stress can worsen vitiligo, so encourage practices that help reduce stress, such as yoga, pranayama, and meditation. Regular sun exposure in moderation can sometimes improve pigmentation—let them sit in early morning sunlight for about 15 minutes. 4. **Therapeutic Processes**: Panchakarma therapies like Virechana (therapeutic purgation) can sometimes be beneficial. This should only be undertaken with a professional Ayurvedic practitioner's guidance. 5. **Ongoing Support**: It is crucial for your friend to have continuous support. Vitiligo, due to its visible nature, can indeed impact mental health profoundly. Encourage her to connect with a support group and a mental health professional if necessary. While vitiligo is not considered completely curable, symptoms can be managed with consistency and the right approach. It's essential they consult with an experienced Ayurvedic physician who can continuously tailor treatment according to individual needs. Remember, each person is unique, and treatments may vary depending on their specific constitution and condition.
