Ok thanku

Improving eyesight through Ayurveda can be approached through dietary changes, eye exercises, and lifestyle adjustments. While glasses correct vision, they do not cure underlying issues. Ayurvedically, vision problems often relate to dosha imbalances, particularly within the pitta dosha, which governs eyesight.

First, let’s focus on diet. Consuming foods rich in beta-carotene, such as carrots, spinach, and sweet potatoes, may support eye health. Include ghee in your diet, as it’s believed to soothe aggravated doshas and nourish the ocular tissues. You might also find incorporating triphala churna beneficial. It’s a herbal preparation made from amalaki, bibhitaki, and haritaki, often recommended for eye health. Take it with warm water before bed.

Eye exercises can also help. Start with palming: rub your palms together to generate warmth, then cover your closed eyes without applying pressure. In addition, try focusing exercises by looking at a distant object for about 15 seconds, then shift focus to a nearer object, like your thumb, repeating the sequence. Perform these regularly to strengthen eye muscles.

Make sure your lifestyle adds not any strain to the eyes. Avoid excessive screen time, or at least take breaks, something like every 20 minutes… Adequate sleep is crucial, so aim for a consistent sleep pattern that allows for 7-9 hours of rest each night.

Redenshank might be of use too, an ancient remedy called nethra tarpana, where clarified butter is poured over the eyes to cleanse and nourish them. This, though, should be done under professional supervision.

While these changes can support eye health, improving vision to a point where glasses are no longer required isn’t always achievable, especially if there’s a strong genetic component. Consulting with an ophthalmologist can also provide options, such as corrective surgeries or other treatments.
