Redness, soreness, and sagging of the eyelids, true enough, could be representative of an imbalance in the Pitta dosha, which often governs the eyes and joints. The excessive flow of tears combined with their seeming inability to lubricate might also indicate a Vata imbalance contributing to dryness despite the watering. It’s important to address these symptoms with ayurvedic wisdom, but before diving deeply into treatments, visiting an ophthalmologist is paramount to rule out infections or structural concerns, which could be urgent.

For ayurvedically supporting the health of your eyes, Triphala wash can be quite beneficial. Mix 1 teaspoon of Triphala powder in a glass of water, leave overnight, and strain. Use this liquid, warmed, to gently wash your eyes once daily, before bed is often best. Remember, this is not a substitute for medical care, particularly if condition worsens.

Diet-wise, consuming ghee can help soothe Vata imbalance-- a teaspoon with warm water in mornings can be beneficial. Prefer warm, moist foods to dry or excessively spicy ones. Cucumbers or soaked raisins can hydrate and pacify Pitta while promoting digestion.

Working with your lifestyle can preventing further irritation. Carve out daily routines that incorporate eye protection from glaring lights, strong winds, and excessive screen time. Yoga is wonderful too; gentle postures like Simple Forward Bend with extended exhalations can stimulate eye health.

Be mindful, though, and keep a close watch. If symptoms persist or change dramatically, seeing a medical doctor is not only wise but essential. Integrating Ayurveda can augment your healing but should never delay professional care where needed.
