is drishti eye drop safe - #42687

I am really looking for some advice! A few months ago, I started using Drishti eye drops because I was dealing with pretty annoying eye strain from all the screen time, you know, with work and stuff. I’ve heard that Drishti eye drop is supposed to be great for relief and improving vision, but I’ve been having some second thoughts lately. Sometimes my eyes feel a bit itchy or red, and I can’t tell if it’s just the drops or something else. Like, my friend swears by these drops but then I read a couple of reviews where people mentioned bad reactions — nothing too scary, but still enough to make me raise an eyebrow, ya know? Is Drishti eye drop safe really? I mean, are there any known side effects or anything? I don’t want to end up making my eyes worse by relying on something that might not be all that great for them. Also, should I be using them every day? I kinda just want to know if I’m good to keep using them or if I should just ditch them and look for something else. Any thoughts would be super helpful!! I just really wanna take care of my eyes, especially with all the screens!

Drishti eye drops often marketed as Ayurvedic remedies, are primarily composed of herbal ingredients aimed at relieving eye strain, improving vision, and combating minor irritations. However, the safety and effectiveness of these drops can be influenced by several factors, including your unique prakriti (constitution), lifestyle, and any existing dosha imbalances. While many people use them without adverse effects, there are indeed some considerations to keep in mind.

Eye irritation, redness or a burning sensation can occasionally occur with any eye drop, including herbal formulations like Drishti. This might be due to the presence of potent ingredients like honey, onion juice, or other herbal extracts which in some people, can cause mild reactions. It’s important to note that some eye drops can have astringent properties, which might be uncomfortable, especially if your eyes are sensitive or if the drops are used excessively.

If you are experiencing consistent discomfort such as itchiness or redness, it may be wise to stop using the drops and consult with a healthcare professional. It’s crucial not to overlook these symptoms, as persistent irritation might lead to other complications. And if you wear contact lenses, remove them prior to application, as herbal extracts might interact with the lenses.

For safe use, limit the drops to a smaller dose initially to see how your eyes respond. Usually, applying 1-2 drops twice daily would suffice, but it’s not generally advised for long-term or daily use without monitoring. Keep an eye on any changes or symptoms and consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner, especially if symptoms persist beyond a few days.

For eye strain, consider incorporating an eye exercise routine and reducing screen time by following the 20-20-20 rule — every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. Ensure your workspace is well-lit to minimize strain and use protective eyewear. Include more Vitamin A-rich foods in your diet, like carrots, leafy greens, and sweet potatoes to support overall eye health.

Drishti eye drops have a reputation in the Ayurvedic community for helping with various eye issues, such as strain or improving vision. They typically contain natural ingredients like honey, camphor, and herbs found in Siddha and Ayurveda practices meant to cleanse and soothe the eyes. However, even natural products can sometimes cause reactions.

The itchiness and redness you’re experiencing can be a sign of sensitivity or a minor allergic reaction to one of the components in the formula. Every individual’s constitution or prakriti is unique, and so is their response to certain substances. Factors like weather, diet, or even pre-existing eye conditions may influence how your eyes react to these drops. While many people use them daily without issue, it’s important not to neglect discomfort.

If the irritation continues or worsens, it might be wise to stop using the drops and observe whether symptoms improve. Easing off might provide clarity on whether Drishti is the cause. Due to continuous screen exposure, it’s crucial to also consider other factors like regular screen breaks, eye exercises, and maintaining proper lighting in your environment to reduce strain.

If symptoms persist beyond discontinuation or seem severe, seeking advice from an eye specialist might be necessary to rule out other underlying conditions. The safest approach for eye health, especially when using any new product, is moderation and attentiveness to your body’s signals. Always prioritize treatments that align well with your personal constitution and lifestyle.
