Doctors' responses
Experiencing stomach cramps and motions after taking an ayurvedic formulation may sometimes occur, especially if there’s a sensitivity or imbalance in the digestive system. It would be wise to pause the Bringirajasva and Vasarishtam temporarily to see if the symptoms improve.
As for using pantop (a proton pump inhibitor) or loperamide (an anti-diarrheal), these can help manage the current symptoms. Pantop can aid in decreasing stomach acid, which might alleviate any discomfort, while loperamide helps to reduce diarrhea. However, it’s essential to watch these and only use them as necessary. Consider taking pantop on an empty stomach once daily, while loperamide should be taken as needed for diarrhea, but do not exceed recommended doses.
Returning to the ayurvedic treatment, it might be helpful to introduce them again but at a reduced dosage, to see how your body reacts. Start with half the prescribed amount, and monitor your symptoms closely. Alternatively, consult with your Ayurvedic physician about the reaction you had, as they might need to adjust your prescription, considering your body’s responses.
For supporting asthma and digestive issues, pay attention to your diet. Enhance your meals with warm, cooked foods – avoiding too much raw or cold items – which can enhance the digestive fire (agni), preventing discomfort. Drinking warm water throughout the day can also facilitate digestion.
Finally if symptoms persist or worsen, seek further medical attention, as it may require reevaluation of your treatment plan. Safety should always be the priority when incorporating multiple medical approaches.
