Hello Thank‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ you for sharing your health concerns with me. At your age, 73, and with osteoporosis, along with your medical history of gallbladder removal, you surely need an approach that is both gentle and thoughtful. But don’t worry we are here to help you out 😊

✅ YOUR CONCERN

Osteoporosis (for more than 6 months) Gallbladder removed 6 months ago Age: 73 years Diet already rich in calcium & Vitamin D No fractures or recent falls (good sign ✅)

✅ So even if your diet is full of calcium, the absorption and use of it may still be impaired due to bile imbalance after the operation.

✅ INTERNAL MEDICATION (For bone strengthening, absorption support & Vata control)

1.Laksha Guggulu – 1-0-1 after food (Best for strengthening bones & preventing fractures)

2.Asthimitra vati – 1-0-1 after food (Direct nourishment to bone tissue)

3.Praval Pishti – 125 mg once daily after food with honey or warm water (Natural calcium support, easy to absorb)

4.Dashmoolarishta – 15 ml with equal water once daily after dinner (Controls Vata, improves lower limb & back strength)

5.Triphala Churna – ½ tsp at night with warm water (Supports digestion and nutrient absorption post gallbladder surgery)

✅ EXTERNAL CARE

Daily Abhyanga (oil massage) with: Mahanarayan Taila Massage 15 minutes before bath of spine, hips, knees, and ankles by rubbing in a circle with warm fingers Follow with mild warm water bath This improves: Bone lubrication Joint stability Fall prevention

✅ HOME REMEDIES

1.Sesame seeds powder – 1 tsp daily with warm water 2.Almonds (5 daily) 3.Turmeric in warm water or milk (¼ tsp daily) 4.Dry ginger tea for digestion 5.Sun exposure 15–20 minutes daily

✅ DIET PLAN

✅ INCLUDE

Warm milk (if tolerated) Ghee in small quantity Moong dal, red rice Drumstick (moringa), sesame seeds Dates, figs Vegetable soups

❌ AVOID

Very cold food & drinks Excess raw food Packaged food Excess tea/coffee Late-night meals

✅ LIFESTYLE TIPS

Gentle walking daily (20–30 minutes) Avoid jerky movements Do not sit on the floor Use support while climbing steps Keep your mind calm (Vata worsens with fear & anxiety)

✅ INVESTIGATIONS NEEDED For monitoring

DEXA Scan (Bone Density) Vitamin D3 Serum Calcium Vitamin B12

–Osteoporosis can be stabilized & implified strengthened naturally – The loss of bone can be slowed down quite a lot – The chances of fractures can be lowered considerably – Proper absorption can be restored even after gallbladder removal if the correct digestion-supporting medicines are used

Warm Regards Dr Snehal ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌Vidhate

After gallbladder removal, digestive efficiency can be altered and this can impact bone health due to possible malabsorption of key nutrients. To address osteoporosis, and strengthen bones, focusing on diet and lifestyle modifications aligned with Ayurveda could be beneficial.

Start by incorporating sesame seeds into your diet, as they are rich in calcium which is essential for bone health. You might want to take a teaspoon of sesame seed powder mixed in a glass of warm milk daily in the morning. Milk, why it should be fresh and full-fat, enhances calcium absorption, considering your age and constitutional needs.

Inclusion of Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is advised. This adaptogenic herb is renowned in Ayurveda for its rejuvenative properties. A common preparation could involve mixing half a teaspoon of Ashwagandha powder with warm milk, consuming it before bedtime.

The digestive strength or ‘Agni’ is paramount. Include spices like cumin, fennel, ginger, and coriander in your meals, as they stimulate the digestive fire and facilitate the absorption of nutrients. Chyawanprash, a herbal jam, taken a tablespoon daily can also support digestion and overall strength.

Regular physical activity is crucial, weight-bearing exercises can effectively support bone density. Try gentle yoga poses, under guidance, which focus on balance and strength.

Avoid heavy, oily, and overly spicy foods that might exacerbate Vata dosha, which often leads to conditions like osteoporosis. Stay hydrated but avoid excessive consumption of cold water or cold beverages.

Stress reduction through pranayama and meditation can help in maintaining overall health balance, influencing absorption and function of bodily tissues.

If any herbal or dietary supplement is considered, it’s important to consult with healthcare provider, making sure they don’t interact with any existing medications or conditions.
