Unwanted facial hair due to PCOS is indeed a common concern. While Ayurveda cannot promise an overnight permanent solution, it offers holistic approaches to manage the condition. This is mostly about addressing the hormonal imbalances and improving overall health.
Start with making a paste using turmeric and gram flour. Mix about one tablespoon of each with a little water or milk to create a smooth paste. Apply it on the areas with unwanted hair, let it dry and gently scrub it away in the opposite direction of hair growth, thrice a week. The kurkum will help over time to reduce the hair growth due to its anti-androgenic properties.
Increasing, the intake of spearmint tea could be beneficial too. It is a ancient remedy that’s known to help lower excess androgen levels naturally. Make it part of your daily routine by consuming a cup or two in the morning.
A balanced diet is crucial, focus on foods that balance kapha dosha, like barley, millet, green leafy vegetables and avoid dairy and processed foods. In lithium with the diet, engage in yoga and pranayam exercises that support hormonal balance, for example bhramari and anulom-vilom.
Lastly, consult with an Ayurvedic doctor about treatment called Shirodhara, which helps calm the mind and relieve stress, something that aggravates the PCOS condition. Doing this in combination with herbal prescriptions like Ashoka powder or Chandraprabha Vati tablets under a practitioner’s guidance can be quite beneficial.
Track any herbs and regimens by how your body reacts over a few months, as Ayurvedic treatments can take time to work effectively. Note that individual constitution varies, and refining the treatment based on progress and symptoms is essential.
