It is important to focus on balancing the Pitta dosha, which governs the health of hair and skin. To address this, you can use herbal oils such as Bhringraj oil, Amla oil, or Brahmi oil for regular scalp massage, which promotes hair growth and strengthens the roots. Internally, herbs like Ashwagandha, Shatavari, and Triphala can help nourish the hair follicles and improve circulation to the scalp. Ensure a nutrient-rich diet, including proteins, iron, and vitamins, especially Vitamin A, Vitamin E, and zinc, to support hair health. Additionally, avoid excessive heat styling, stress, and harsh chemicals, as they can further aggravate hair loss. Make sure to follow a personalized treatment plan after assessing your individual constitution, as this will provide better results.
Hey, I totally get where you’re coming from. Hair loss can be super frustrating, right? First thing is… as a BAMS intern, you probably already know that Ayurvedic approaches are all about balancing those doshas. Maybe, your hair fall could be related to an imbalance in your pitta dosha – you know, that fiery energy that sometimes gets a bit too heated.
So, let’s dive into this. You might want to start with cooling down that fiery pitta. Amla (Indian Gooseberry) is great for this – it’s cooling and works well for hair. Try consuming amla juice in the mornings or apply amla oil directly to the scalp. Then there’s aloe vera gel, excellent for both internal and topical use… it can be taken internally or used to massage the scalp. It’s soothing and can help lower any excess heat.
Your diet is important too. Think of incorporating more sweet, bitter and astringent foods – things like cucumbers, beets, and leafy greens, you know? Avoid spicy, hot and oily foods 'cause they can aggravate pitta even more. Drinking lots of water and herbal teas can help calm things down.
And, stress! Are you managing it? Yoga and meditation can do wonders for that! Trataka, it’s a specific yogic exercise, where u focus on a candle flame… could help improve focus while calming ur mind.
Then there’s also behavior and timing around meals and sleep. Eating at regular hours, avoiding late nights, these kinda things matter, y’know?
Oil massages are another important piece. Regularly massaging the scalp with a cooling oil like coconut or bhringraj oil can nurture and invigorate your hair roots.
However, if things don’t seem to improve… seeking out a thorough consultation with an Ayurvedic doctor specialized in hair issues might be a good step. They’ll get deeper into your personal prakriti and specific organizing factors.
Let me know how it goes, would be really interested to hear what works for you!
