It seems like there might be residual nasal inflammation, mild allergic tendency, or mucus buildup rather than infection. In Ayurveda, this is often related to Kapha imbalance in the Pranavaha Srotas (respiratory channels).
Diagnosis: Persistent nasal congestion post-adenoidectomy (Kapha-dominant Pranavaha Srotas disorder)
1. Nasya Therapy (Pratimarsha Nasya) Medicine: Anu Taila / Shadbindu Taila Dose: 1–2 drops per nostril Route: Intranasal (nasal instillation) Frequency: Once daily, preferably before bedtime Duration: 14 days Note: Keep child lying down, tilt head slightly backward. Ensure no discomfort.
2. Oral Herbal Decoction Medicine: Triphala Kwath (mild, diluted) Dose: 10 ml in warm water Route: Oral Frequency: Once daily, after breakfast Duration: 14 days
3. Dietary Advice Avoid cold, oily, heavy, and sweet foods in the evening Encourage warm soups, khichdi, steamed vegetables, warm milk with a pinch of turmeric
4. Lifestyle / Supportive Measures Gentle nasal cleaning with saline drops before sleep Keep bedroom warm and slightly humidified Avoid dust, smoke, and strong fragrances Encourage outdoor play in fresh air
Follow-up: After 2 weeks or earlier if congestion worsens Warning Signs: Fever, foul nasal discharge, snoring, or breathing difficulty—consult ENT immediately
