In a very young children for high fever and cold kabasura murine should be used with caution. It is better to avoid in 1.5 year old child due to its strong nature for a 3.5 year old child, it can be given only in a very diluted form about half teaspoon with equal warm water once daily after food If fever is persistent and is above 102°, if the child is not drinking dull then immediately consult Pediatrician

Yes, Kabasura Kudineer is commonly used in Siddha/Ayurveda for upper respiratory infections, cold, cough, and fever in children and it is generally considered safe when given in proper pediatric dosage. ✓Important conditions before giving it Fever is 102–104°F (high) consult a pediatrician urgently to rule out bacterial infection, flu, RSV, or COVID especially in 1.5-year-old (higher risk group). ✓Kabasura is supportive it is not a replacement for medical evaluation or paracetamol if fever is high. Safe Pediatric Dosage (approximate – confirm with doctor) 1.5-year-old (≈10–12 kg): 2–3 g powder (≈½ tsp) boiled in 50–60 ml water, reduced to 15–20 ml and give 5–10 ml twice daily 3.5-year-old (≈14–18 kg): 3–5 g powder (≈1 tsp) boiled in 75–100 ml water, reduced to 20–30 ml and give 10–15 ml twice daily ✓How to prepare Take the prescribed amount of Kabasura Kudineer powder Boil in the mentioned water until reduced to ⅓–½ Filter, cool to lukewarm, add ½ tsp honey (only if child >1 year & no allergy) Give after food or with small feed to avoid stomach upset ✓Supportive care (do this anyway) Paracetamol (doctor-guided dose) for fever >100.4°F Warm fluids: tulsi-ginger water, warm water sip-by-sip Steam inhalation (plain warm water) 5–10 min 2–3×/day (very helpful for cough & congestion) Saline nasal drops + gentle suction before feeds/sleep Keep child hydrated & in semi-upright position during sleep ✓When to go to hospital immediately Fever >104°F or lasting >3 days Rapid breathing, chest pulling in, nostrils flaring Lethargy, refusing feeds, continuous crying Blue lips or severe breathlessness Dr Gursimran Jeet Singh MD Panchakarma

Hello I totally get why you’re worried with your little ones (1.5 & 3.5 years old) having high fevers (102–104°F), colds, and coughs. When they’re so young, even a simple bug can seem scary, but kids usually bounce back fast with some TLC. YOUR CONCERN Your kids have: • High fever (102–104°F) • Runny or stuffy nose • Cough • Upper respiratory thing • It’s been going on 1–3 days It sounds like a regular viral upper respiratory thing (Kapha + Pitta thingy). WHAT AYURVEDA SAYS It’s called: Pratishyaya + Jwara (cold with fever) • Kapha → mucus, cough • Pitta → fever • Kids’ tummies are kinda delicate, so watch out with strong herbal stuff. CAN U TAKE KABASURA KUDINEER? Yes, BUT super small and watered down Kabasura Kudineer is strong. Gotta be gentle with babies. HOW MUCH? For the 1.5 year old Kabasura Kudineer (the liquid stuff) Mix 5 ml with 20 ml warm water Give it 2 times a day after they eat For the 3.5 year old Kabasura Kudineer 10 ml mixed with 20 ml warm water Give it 2 times a day after they eat ❌Don’t give it straight ❌ Don’t give it more than 2 times a day EXTRA AYURVEDIC TREATMENT Give them both: Sitopaladi Churna • 1.5 yr → a tiny pinch with honey • 3.5 yr → ¼ tsp with honey Twice a day It helps with coughs and keeps their lungs happy. WHAT YOU CAN DO AT HOME (IMPORTANT!) • Keep their chests and feet warm • Use lukewarm water for sponging to bring down fever • No cold food or ice cream • Give them warm water to drink • Steam for the 3.5 yr old (make sure you watch them!) Your kids will be okay Viral fevers usually get better in 3–5 days if you take good care of them. You’re doing great by asking for help early Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate

It cannot be given to babies below 5 years of age. Even though it is an Ayurvedic medicine and helps to boost immunity, please consult with your doctor before using any such thing. Breast milk should be fed on demand. Vaccinations should be given at the right time. For a month old baby, these are the only two things that can help in boosting immunity

⚠️ Medical Priority - At ages 1.5 years and 3.5 years, a high fever with respiratory symptoms can quickly become dangerous (pneumonia, bronchiolitis, influenza, etc.). - Immediate pediatric evaluation is essential. Please do not rely only on herbal remedies at this stage. - If fever persists >102°F, or if there is fast breathing, chest retractions, poor feeding, or lethargy → seek emergency care right away. Kabasura Kudineer and Children— - Kabasura Kudineer is a Siddha formulation used for viral respiratory infections (including COVID‑19). - It contains multiple herbs with strong actions (like ginger, pepper, ajwain, etc.). - Safety in infants and toddlers is not well established. Most traditional texts and practitioners recommend it only for older children and adults. - Giving it to a 1.5‑year‑old is not considered safe without direct supervision of a pediatric Siddha/Ayurvedic physician. - Even for a 3.5‑year‑old, dosage must be carefully adjusted (usually very small, diluted amounts) Safer Supportive Measures (for children)— - Warm fluids: lukewarm water, light soups. - Ajwain fumes: gentle inhalation of ajwain seeds roasted and tied in cloth (for nasal congestion). - Tulsi + honey (only for >1 year old): 1–2 drops of tulsi juice mixed with honey, once or twice daily. - Oil massage: gentle warm sesame oil massage on chest/back for comfort.
