Vitamin C, D, calcium, and CoQ10 can support gum health, but they cannot eliminate deep periodontal pockets or regrow lost bone. - for proper examination meet to dentologist for early help.

Ayurvedic Supplements & Herbs Triphala Guggulu: This is a classic choice for oral health. Guggulu is renowned for its ability to clear “Ama” (toxins) and reduce inflammation in deep tissues, while Triphala provides Vitamin C and antioxidants. Arimedadi Thailam: This is a specialized oil for the mouth. Using it for Oil Pulling (Kavala/Gandusha) for 10-15 minutes daily can help draw out bacteria from deep pockets and tighten the gums. Dashana Samskara Churna: A traditional herbal tooth powder. Instead of just brushing with it, you can gently massage it into the gums to improve blood circulation and stimulate healing. Calcium & Vitamin D (Asthi-poshaka): Since the gums support the bone, herbs like Laksha or Arjuna are often used in Ayurveda to support bone density. Dietary Adjustments Since you mentioned your diet is light on meat and heavy on vegetables: Healthy Fats: Ensure you are getting enough healthy fats (like Ghee) to lubricate the tissues and pacify Vata. Mineral Density: Focus on sesame seeds (high in calcium) and leafy greens cooked with digestive spices like ginger to ensure the minerals are actually being absorbed.

Hello Thanks for explaining what’s going on with your teeth so well. I appreciate how well you take care of your mouth. Gum recession and deep pockets at 78 aren’t just about your teeth. They point to deeper tissue and bone issues that Ayurveda can help with. YOUR CONCERN You’re dealing with: – Receding gums – Deep pockets (7 mm) – It keeps coming back – Even though you brush and floss In Ayurveda, we’d call this: Danta-Mamsa Kshaya with Asthi Dhatu Kshaya (Basically, your gums and jawbone are thinning) This happens because: – Vata is too high because of your age – Your bones aren’t as strong – Gums don’t get enough blood – There’s ongoing swelling (Pitta) Brushing alone won’t fix this. We need to rebuild your bone strength, blood flow, and immunity. AYURVEDIC PLAN OF TREATMENT 1️⃣ To stop the gums from getting worse and fight infection Triphala Guggulu – 1 tablet, twice a day after food This cleans out any hidden gunk in those gum pockets. 2️⃣ To rebuild bone Laksha Guggulu – 1 tablet, twice a day after food Praval Pishti – 125 mg, twice a day with honey after food This strengthens the bone around your teeth and keeps them from getting loose. 3️⃣ To help your gums grow back Amalaki Rasayana – 1 tsp morning empty stomach This helps your body make more collagen and heal your gums. 4️⃣ Super Important: Local Care Every morning: Oil pulling (Gandusha) with sesame oil – 5–10 minutes * After brushing: Massage your gums with Triphala churna + honey This will shrink those pockets and get more blood flowing to your gums. DIET PLAN Eat these every day: – Sesame seeds – Soaked almonds – Coconut – Milk with turmeric – Green veggies – Moringa Avoid: – Very dry foods – Cold drinks – Too many beans without ghee – Raw salads at night Also, have 1 tsp of ghee each day – it’s good for your bones and gums Even at 78, Ayurveda can help your tissues heal! You’ve done a great job taking care of your teeth. Now, let’s let Ayurveda get to the root of the problem and help them heal. Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate

Thank you so much for your wonderful detailed reply. Also thank you for knowing we can repair some issues no matter our age. I will research to find sources for your suggestions. From the bottom of my heart thanks again.

At the age of seventy eight when gum recession and pockets have been present for more than five years this reflects long standing weakening of the supporting tissues of the teeth in Ayurveda this is understood as gradual depletion of asthi dhatu along with increased vata in the later stage of life even when oral hygiene is very good which you are maintaining properly age related tissue thinning and bone support reduction can still progress so supplements alone cannot completely cure pockets of size seven but they can help slow further deterioration and support healing You may consider calcium along with vitamin D3 and K2 to support bone metabolism magnesium helps proper mineral balance vitamin C supports collagen repair in the gums coenzyme Q10 improves tissue energy and healing and omega three fatty acids help reduce chronic inflammation these should be taken under guidance according to your health status Along with internal support local care is also important gentle gum massage daily with warm sesame oil can nourish tissues herbal powders like triphala or a combination of neem and clove used mildly can support gum strength but avoid aggressive brushing as over brushing can worsen recession warm saline rinsing can improve circulation and reduce bacterial load Regular periodontal cleaning by a dental specialist is necessary because pockets of this size do not close only with supplements the goal at this stage is to control inflammation strengthen remaining support and prevent further bone loss with consistent internal nourishment and careful local care the condition can be stabilized and progression can be slowed
