i have a loose baby tooth that doesn’t have an adult tooth underneath. it’s been wiggling a little for a really long time now. how can i strengthen it / keep it from falling out for as much time as possible?

Hello If a baby has no permanent teeth underneath it is called as retained primary tooth Many people keep it till adulthood But once it becomes loose that means the supporting root is gradually changing 🔹Can we strengthen it? once the tooth becomes loose, any medicine, supplement or home remedies will not be able to strengthen it again But what you can do is -Avoid touching the tooth with tongue repeatedly -Avoid hard and sticky food items -Maintain oral hygiene - brush twice daily, floss daily and use mouth rinse -Avoid sugar abd sugary drinks 🔹Dental Evaluation As the tooth is loose since 6 months a complete dental evaluation is necessary for -Examination -Xray to confirm the teeth underneath -Assessing the root And sometimes dentist can fix the loose teeth if surrounding structure is healthy Hope this helped you 😊 Warm Regards Dr Snehal Vidhate

From an Ayurvedic perspective, the goal is to nourish Asthi Dhatu (bone tissue) and maintain strong gums and oral health. Ayurvedic Guidance: Perform gentle oil pulling (Gandusha) with warm sesame oil for 5–10 minutes daily to support gum strength. Massage the gums gently with sesame oil or a mild herbal gum powder Include calcium- and mineral-rich foods such as sesame seeds, almonds, leafy greens, milk, and ghee (if suitable for you). Reduce frequent sugary snacks and soft drinks, as they can weaken teeth and gums over time. Maintain excellent oral hygiene: brush twice daily and floss regularly.

••Localized Therapy: Danta Mula Dridhta (Strengthening the Roots) To physically tighten the gums around the loose tooth, you need powerful astringent (Kashaya) and healing (Ropana) herbs. ••Daily Pratisarana (Gently Rubbing/Massaging): Mix Dashana Samskara Churna or a fine powder of Triphala with a few drops of warm sesame oil or Irimedadi Taila. Using your index finger, very gently massage this paste onto the gums surrounding the loose tooth. Do not apply heavy lateral pressure to the tooth itself. Leave it on for 2–3 minutes, then rinse with warm water. Targeted Application: ••Bakul (Mimusops elengi): Known in Ayurveda as the ultimate herb for fixing loose teeth. If you can source Bakul bark powder, use it for the massage. ••Lodhra and Sphatika Bhasma: A tiny pinch of Sphatika (purified alum) mixed with Lodhra powder helps instantly tone spongy gums and reduce mobility. 2. Retention Therapy: Gandusha & Kaval (Oil Pulling) Swishing therapeutic oils strengthens the periodontal ligament and nourishes the bone tissue. ••Irimedadi Taila Gandusha: This is the premier Ayurvedic oil for all dental ailments. Take 1–2 tablespoons of warm Irimedadi Taila, hold it in your mouth without moving it (Gandusha) for 3–5 minutes, or gently swish it (Kaval), then spit it out. •Alternative: If Irimedadi is unavailable, use organic, unrefined Til Taila (Sesame Oil). Sesame oil is inherently Vata-hara and deeply nourishes Asthi and Danta. •Frequency: Do this daily on an empty stomach in the morning. 3. Internal Nourishment: Asthi-Dhatu Poshan Because teeth rely on the metabolic health of bone tissue, you must nourish them from within. Calcium & Mineral Boosters: ••Take Lakshadi Guggulu or Asthishrenkhala Churna (Hadajod). These formulations accelerate bone and tissue repair and strengthen the skeletal structure supporting the roots. ••Praval Pishti or Mukta Shukti Bhasma (natural sources of calcium) can be taken with honey or ghee to provide the necessary cellular nutrients to the jawbone. Dietary Tweaks: Include black sesame seeds (Til) in your daily diet—chewing a teaspoon of roasted black sesame seeds in the morning provides a direct dose of bioavailable calcium and strengthens the teeth. 4. Mechanical Protection: Do’s & Don’ts No matter how many herbs you use, mechanical trauma will defeat the treatment. ••Avoid Asya Sukha (Chewing hard foods on that side): Strictly avoid using that specific tooth to bite into hard fruits (like apples), nuts, or sticky candies. ••Stop the Tongue Reflex: It is human nature to constantly push a loose tooth with the tongue. This subtle, continuous pressure acts like orthodontic forces, slowly widening the socket and worsening the mobility. Consciously keep your tongue away from it. ••Use an Ultra-Soft Brush: Switch to an ultra-soft toothbrush or use your fingers (Hastalekhana) to clean that specific zone so you don’t aggressively push the crown.
