What natural remedies can I use to heal a tooth and gum infection after multiple dental visits? - #52718
Went to dentist three different ones because was getting unclear and other not great service.. the first one did a filling covered the roots to help with the pain supposedly then I was in worse pain for a week felt like death was possible after 3 days of no sleep so I went to the other dentist in the same practice and he was unclear and couldn't tell me whether it was the wisdom tooth or the second tooth in and said that there was an infection by touching the gums and there was pain so I decided to search for natural remedies and have a friend who's a ayurvedic practitioner and she suggested Viola clarifier once every hour until the infection is gone I'm still having strong irritation in the gums and according to my psychic there's a small amount of infection left and she also said lemon and baking soda although that may have been causing irritation to the gums and also taking Ginger oil which she said to put directly on the gums after I looked on Google it said better to have coconut oil with it so have been doing that drops with coconut oil to swish and just recently it's been a month since the beginning of this and I just started doing the coconut oil for longer for 5 to 10 minutes mixed with either turmeric or Ginger oil and still have strong irritation to the gum line and further very not a lot of pain only when I brush teeth so I also saw that maybe you could do Chi or try follow would be good I was thinking of adding that and I also did raw garlic at the beginning for a week and have restarted that the past four days have been have been taking olive leaf tincture so would like to know the best options to finish completing healing the tooth and gum infection and in which one of these things to keep doing although I have think I may have low blood pressure 90 over 60 to 70 often fluctuating between 100 over 70 so not sure about the olive leaf tincture although psychic says everything is fine so far can't always reach him he's been sick he should see an area radic practitioner he just believes in the doctors too much he's on a lot of pills anyways I'm wondering if it's okay to have the raw garlic with Goldenseal and echinacea or the not painter the olive leaf tincture or maybe switch to the colloidal silver or whatever you think is the best herbs like the viola clarifier it has been very very very very rough and I hope that you can help and can come back if needed to adjust as long as I stay healthy I can come up with the money peace blessings
Doctors' responses
Hi! I’m an assistant to the Ask Ayurveda doctors. I’ve carefully reviewed your question.
I will explain your symptoms through the Ayurvedic perspective so you understand what is happening in your body as a whole.
The symptoms you’re experiencing, such as gum irritation, pain, and potential infection, can be understood through the lens of Ayurveda as a disturbance in the body’s doshas, particularly Pitta and Kapha. The irritation and inflammation suggest an excess of Pitta, which is associated with heat, redness, and inflammation. The presence of infection and potential swelling indicates a Kapha imbalance, which can manifest as stagnation and accumulation, potentially leading to the formation of ama (toxins) in the body.
The connection between your symptoms and your overall health is crucial. Low blood pressure and digestive health can influence your body’s ability to heal and maintain balance. Weak digestion (agni) can lead to the accumulation of ama, further exacerbating the infection and inflammation. The remedies you’re using, such as coconut oil pulling, turmeric, and ginger, are aligned with reducing inflammation and drawing out toxins, which is beneficial.
To give doctors a precise and effective treatment plan, your answers to the questions below are essential. Without this information, the recommendations will be more general and less accurate.
Please answer each question as clearly as possible.
1. How long have you been experiencing gum irritation? Please specify if it’s been less than a week, 1-4 weeks, 1-2 months, or more than 2 months. 2. How severe is the pain when brushing your teeth? Is it mild (just a bit uncomfortable), moderate (noticeable pain), severe (very painful), or do you experience no pain? 3. Have you noticed any swelling or redness in the gum area? Please indicate if it’s significant, mild, or not noticeable. 4. What other symptoms do you have besides gum irritation? Do you experience fever, chills, bad breath, taste changes, or swollen lymph nodes? 5. How is your overall digestive health? Do you experience regular discomfort, occasional bloating, frequent indigestion, or chronic issues? 6. How often do you experience fluctuations in blood pressure? Is it stable, occasional, or frequent changes? 7. Have you been able to maintain a balanced diet during this time? Are you eating well, somewhat consistently, or is your appetite poor?
Your detailed responses will help us provide more tailored advice and support. Thank you for your cooperation.

Blood pressure is stable I think it’s usually 90 over 60 to 70 or goes up to 100 over 70 sometimes and recently the doctor visit did say it was 120 over 80 which surprised me hopefully the arm cuff blood tester is working I think so because mom had one and I got the same on hers… so it looks so it’s a little but I stopped checking because it would stress me out and people were like why are you checking your blood pressure seem to make sense since the doctor do it so I could keep an eye on things until it caused stress when the numbers dropped the lower than 90 or 60 and 7 is yes eat pretty good …like to eat added ginger oil thinl its helping to eat more with less gas
I understand this has been very exhausting for you. Since it has been going on for a month after dental work, we have to be a bit careful—gum/tooth infections sometimes don’t fully heal with only home remedies. First, an important point (please don’t ignore): If infection is still inside the tooth or root, natural remedies alone may not completely clear it. One proper dental check (X-ray if needed) is important to avoid it spreading. What you should do now (simple and safe) 1. Stop anything irritating the gums Avoid lemon + baking soda → this can damage gums and worsen irritation Avoid applying strong oils directly (ginger oil etc.) → can burn tissues 2. Gentle natural care (continue these) Warm salt water rinse – 2–3 times daily (very effective) Coconut oil pulling – 5–10 min daily (plain, no mixing needed) Turmeric + pinch of salt paste – apply gently on gums once daily Clove water rinse (mild) can help reduce discomfort 3. Diet support Soft, warm foods (khichdi, soups) Avoid very hot, cold, sugary, or hard foods Include: Turmeric milk (once daily) Amla or vitamin C rich foods Good hydration 4. Lifestyle Don’t chew on that side Use a soft toothbrush, brush gently Proper sleep (healing depends on it) 5. About herbs you mentioned Garlic (small amount) – okay, but don’t overuse Olive leaf, goldenseal, echinacea – avoid mixing too many together, can disturb body balance Colloidal silver – better to avoid without supervision Triphala rinse – good option, you can start once daily When to be alert Swelling, pus, bad taste, fever, or pain increasing → needs dental treatment immediately Simple understanding Your irritation is likely because: Infection + Too many strong remedies irritating the gums Now the focus should be calming + gentle healing, not aggressive treatments. If symptoms don’t settle in 5–7 days with this approach, please consult a good dentist again (preferably endodontist). For a personalised Ayurvedic plan to support healing safely, you can consult me.
Oh my god…blessings namaste…
