Doctors' responses

What is Xanthelasma? Xanthelasma are: Yellowish soft plaques near eyelids Caused by cholesterol/fat deposits under skin Usually painless Cosmetic problem (but can indicate lipid imbalance) ⚠️ Very Important Step Before removing again, please check: Lipid profile (Total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, Triglycerides) Blood sugar Thyroid 👉 50% patients with xanthelasma have high cholesterol. Since you mentioned you have one other health condition — if it is cholesterol, diabetes, thyroid or BP, please tell me. ❌ Why Peeling Didn’t Work? Chemical peeling usually: Does NOT remove deep fat deposits Often results in recurrence Can cause pigmentation around eyes So peeling is not the best option. ✅ Best Treatment Options 1️⃣ Laser Removal (Most Effective) CO2 laser or Er:YAG laser Less scarring Controlled depth May need 1–2 sittings 2️⃣ Radiofrequency / Electrocautery Good for small lesions Done by dermatologist 3️⃣ Surgical Excision For large thick plaques Small scar possible ⚠️ Even after removal, recurrence possible if cholesterol remains high. 🌿 Can Medicines Remove It? Important truth: 👉 Once plaque forms, medicines usually cannot dissolve it completely. But medicines can: Prevent further growth Reduce recurrence Improve lipid profile 🌿 Ayurvedic Support (If Lipids High) If cholesterol high: Arjuna Guggulu preparations Garlic Triphala at night Diet: Stop fried food Reduce sugar Daily 30 min brisk walk 💡 What I Suggest For You First do lipid profile test If lipids normal → cosmetic laser removal best option If lipids high → first control cholesterol 3–6 months then remove
