According to Ayurveda, your symptoms suggest aggravation of mainly Pitta and Kapha dosha, leading to inflammation and hidden infection around the tooth and gums. The bitter taste, swelling, jaw pain, and recurrent discomfort indicate that the root area may still have imbalance or infection. —Advice: Avoid hard, spicy, sour, cold, and sticky foods Maintain oral hygiene Warm saline or Triphala gargles twice daily Oil pulling with sesame oil every morning —Medicines: 1) Gandhak Rasayan – 2 tablets twice daily after meals 2) Kaishore Guggul – 2 tablets twice daily after meals 3) Neem Capsules – 1 capsule twice daily 4) Triphala Capsules – 1 capsule at bedtime 5) dantahoolantak vati 2 tab twice daily after meal 6) Clove oil local application – once daily if pain persists —Follow-up: Dental evaluation advised if swelling, pus, or severe pain continues.

●Before going to bed, rinse with sesame oil for 3 minutes. Then gently massage with your fingers. Do not rinse with water; leave the oil in. ●Gargle and rinse with Triphala tea. The astringent properties of Triphala stop bleeding and reduce swelling. Massaging the gums with coconut oil is also beneficial. ●Arimedadi Thailam-Take one tablespoon of Arimedadi oil: Pour it into your mouth.Swish the oil gently: Move the oil around your mouth for 5-10 minutes.Spit the oil into the trash be mindful not to swallow it.Rinse your mouth: Thoroughly rinse with lukewarmwater to remove any remaining oil.Refrain from eating: For best results, avoid consuming food immediately after oil pulling. Apply ice from outside,Avoid chewing hard food

Hello, The symptoms you are describing—specifically the discomfort when chewing hard foods, food impaction, jaw pain, and swelling suggest that while the root canal addressed the initial decay, there may be lingering inflammation in the surrounding tissues (Mamsagata Vata) or a mild infection (Dantamula Shotha). In Ayurveda, dental health is closely linked to Asthi Dhatu (bone tissue) and Majja Dhatu (marrow). The bitter taste and swelling indicate a slight Pitta and Kapha imbalance in the oral cavity. Ayurvedic procedures recommended for your specific condition… 1. Oil Pulling (Kavala/Gandusha): This is the most effective practice for strengthening the jaw and gums. Swish 1 tablespoon of warm sesame oil or specialized herbal oil in your mouth for 5–10 minutes every morning on an empty stomach. 2. Oral Hygiene: Avoid very hard or crunchy foods on that side of the mouth to prevent mechanical stress on the treated tooth. Ensure meticulous cleaning between teeth to prevent food stagnation, which causes the bitter taste and swelling. Ayurveda Medicines 1. Irimedadi Thailam Usage: For Oil Pulling. Dose: 10–15 ml. Swish in the mouth for 5–10 minutes and spit out. Do not swallow. Follow with a warm water rinse. 2. Guggulutiktam Kwath Usage: To reduce deep-seated inflammation in the bone and jaw. Dose: 15 ml mixed with 45 ml of lukewarm water, twice daily before food. 3. Khadiradi Gulika Usage: For local action against infection and bitter taste. Dose: Keep 1 tablet in the mouth and allow it to dissolve slowly. Repeat 2–3 times a day.

This may be due to persistent tooth infection or gum infection even after root canal. Food getting stuck, jaw pain, swelling and bitter taste suggest inflammation. Better to consult a dentist once again for X-ray and cleaning. Ayurvedic treatment: Khadiradi vati 1 tablet 3 times daily, keep in mouth and suck slowly. Triphala guggulu 2 tablets twice daily after food with warm water. Gandusha Hold warm sesame oil or coconut oil in mouth for 5 minutes morning daily Gargle Use warm water with pinch of turmeric and rock salt 2–3 times daily. Avoid Very hard foods Cold foods and sweets Tobacco if using

Your symptoms suggest chronic dental infection/inflammation around the treated tooth, along with weak gums and aggravated Pitta–Kapha dosha. After root canal treatment, if food gets stuck, jaw pain, swelling, bitter taste, or recurrent ulcers continue, it may indicate hidden infection, gum pocket, or improper healing. Proper dental evaluation is still important to rule out abscess or cracked tooth. From an Ayurvedic perspective, focus on reducing inflammation, improving oral healing, and preventing further decay. Ayurvedic Supportive Care: Do warm salt water gargling twice daily. Oil pulling with sesame oil or coconut oil every morning for 5–10 minutes may help reduce bacteria and gum irritation. Apply a small quantity of turmeric + honey paste over gums if swelling appears. Triphala mouth rinse at night can help with ulcers, bad taste, and gum health. Avoid very hard foods, excess sweets, cold drinks, tobacco, and late-night eating. Helpful Ayurvedic Medicines (commonly used): Khadiradi Vati – suck slowly 2–3 times daily for mouth ulcers and bad taste. Gandhak Rasayan + Triphala Churna may help improve oral healing and digestion. Irimedadi Taila for gentle gum massage can strengthen gums and reduce sensitivity. Because you have frequent jaw pain, severe lip swelling lasting days, and food lodgment, please consult a dentist once to check whether the root canal tooth needs cleaning, crown correction, or infection management. Ayurveda works best along with proper dental correction in such chronic cases.

Your symptoms suggest there may still be some irritation or infection around the treated tooth or gums, especially since food gets stuck and there is jaw pain, swelling, and bitter taste. Hard foods can put pressure on the weakened area and trigger pain again. Avoid chewing hard foods from that side and maintain good oral hygiene after every meal. Warm salt water rinsing 2–3 times daily will help reduce irritation and prevent food accumulation. At home, you can apply a small amount of clove oil gently near the painful tooth for temporary relief. Turmeric with a little coconut oil can also be applied over the gums if there is soreness. Avoid very sugary, sticky, or cold foods. Since you also have recurrent mouth ulcers and bitter taste, digestion and heat imbalance may also be contributing. Khadiradi vati – 1 tablet to suck 3–4 times daily Triphala guggulu – 1 tablet twice daily after food Gandhak rasayan – 1 tablet twice daily after food This may help reduce inflammation and support gum healing. Since there is swelling and jaw pain even after root canal treatment, a dental re-evaluation is important to rule out persistent infection or issues around the treated tooth. Regards, Dr Raghuveer (Ayurvedacharya)
