Doctors' responses

–The loose motions are likely happening because this herbal shot stimulates the intestines. Amla, ginger, and black pepper can act like natural laxatives, especially on an empty stomach. This increases bowel movement and causes watery stools. Try taking it after food or reducing the quantity.

HELLO, The loose motions are very likely reactive bowel stimulation from the potency of the ingredients taken together on an empty stomach YOU ARE TAKING -Amla -ginger -curry leaves -black pepper -pink salt AYURVEDIC VIEW 1) DIGESTIVE FIRE OVER STIMULATION Ginger + black pepper + salt are -ushna (heating) -tikshna (sharp or penetrating) -strong deepana pachana (digestive stimulants) When taken on an empty stomach, they can -excessively stimulate digestive fire -irritate the intestinal mucosa -increase intestinal motility This may result in -drava mala (watery stools) -pitta aggravation -mild intestinal irritation 2) PITTA AGGRAVATION Although amla is cooling in vireo (post digestive effect ), it is -sour -slightly acidic COMBINED WITH -ginger -black pepper -salt This mixture can provoke pitta + vata the intestines, leading to -loose stools -urgency -burning sensation IF YOU NATURALLY HAVE -sesitive digestion -pitta Prakriti -IBS-like tendency -Hyperacidity You are more prone to this reaction 3) VATA PRAKOPA IN COLON Watery stools indicate -vata mavin downward excessive -irritated colon Spices in excess can cause -increased peristalsis -reduced stool binding WHY IT STARTED RECENTLY (1-4 weeks) Possibilities -seasonal shift (pitta season) -change in ginger quantity -change in quality/potency of ingredients -your gut microbiome adapting -underlying mild gut inflammation WHAT YOU SHOULD DO 1) STOP TAKING IT ON EMPTY STOMACH very important Istead -take it after light breakfast OR -dilute it heavily with warm water 2) REDUCE HEATING INGREDIENTS Modify your shot Instead of -1 tsp ginger-> use 2-3 drops juice -pinnch black pepper-> skip for now -salt-> avoid KEEP -amla = small quantity -few curry leaves 3) ADD COOLING AND BINDING SUPPORT To balance the formula you may add -1 tsp soaked chia seeds OR -1/2 tsp soaked sabja seeds OR -1 tsp gulkand if pitta symptoms 4) IF LOOSE MOTIONS CONTINUE For 5-7 days take MORNING -1 tsp roasted fennel powder in warm water AFTER MEALS -1/2 tsp roasted cumin + fennel powder IF NEEDED -1 tsp Isabgol husk in warm water at night Your morning shot is too heating and stimulating for your gut, especially on an empty stomach, causing pitta-vata aggravation and watery stools DO FOLLOW HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL THANK YOU

Hello Thank you for sharinh your concern. Manh people take herbal morning shots for better health but it can sometimes not suit to everyone. It is good that you observed the symptoms and made a connection between your morning and loose motion YOUR CONCERN You are taking a morning shot Made of Ginger Amla Currg leaves Black pepper Pink salt After taking this on empty stomach you experience loose motions Why this happened? And should you continue it or not? According to ayurveda Loosemotion after some drink. Usually indicate -Pitta Aggrevation that is excess heat in digestion -Very Sharp digestion -Irritation in intestine - And also senstivity in the gut for certain herbs POSSIBLE REASONS 1.Excess Ushna Ginger and black pepper are hot in nature and may irritate your intestine 2.Amla effect Amla is generally helpful but in some people it may cause lose motion 3.STRONG COMBINATION TOGETHER These drinks include too much strong ingredients which can stimulate digestion strongly 4.Sensitive Gut If digestion is weak strong herbs can cause loose stools AYURVEDIC PLAN OF TREATMENT **STEP 1 - Stop the health shot for 5-7 days and observe if loose motion stops For now simple digestive correction will help -Roasted cumin powder and warm water -Buttermilk. With roasted cumin -Small pinch of dry vinger after meals If it perists Take 1.Kutaja ghanvati 1 tablet twice after food HOW TO MODIFY YOUR HEALTH SHOT Instead of taking at empty stomach take after breakfast Reduce ginger quantity Use only - Amla+ curry leaves Avoid black peppwr initially Add water to dilute Your morning health shot is healthy in general but need Modification according to your gut health Wishing you a good digestive health😊 Warm Regards Dr Snehal Vidhate

Loose motions after taking your amla–ginger–curry leaves shot with black pepper and pink salt are most likely due to the strong Ushna (heating) and Tikshna (sharp) properties of ginger, black pepper, and salt. Amla is cooling and digestive, but when combined with ginger + pepper + salt on an empty stomach, it can overstimulate the gut. This leads to Pitta aggravation and increased intestinal motility, which explains the watery stools. Curry leaves are generally mild, but in this combination they don’t balance the heat. PRACTICAL ADJUSTMENTS– Avoid taking this shot on an empty stomach. Instead, take it after light food (like fruit or porridge). Reduce ginger and pepper quantity — keep them mild. Add a little honey instead of salt for balance. If loose motions persist, stop the shot for a few days and reintroduce ingredients separately to see tolerance.

Your morning shot contains amla (sour), ginger (heating), black pepper (strongly pungent), and salt — all taken on an empty stomach. This combination can strongly stimulate digestion and bowel movement, especially in people with sensitive gut lining or dominant Pitta. Loose, watery stools after taking it suggest that: • The mixture is too strong for your current digestive capacity • It may be irritating the intestinal lining • It is triggering excess Pitta and gut motility • Your body is reacting to the heating and sour combination Empty stomach intake makes the effect stronger because there is no food buffer. While such shots are often promoted as “detox” or “immunity boosters,” they are not suitable for everyone. For now, stop the shot and observe if stools normalize. If you still wish to continue, it would need modification — either reducing ingredients, adjusting quantity, or taking it after food depending on your constitution. Since this has continued for weeks, it indicates that your gut may already be irritated. A short consultation can help assess your digestive type and suggest a safer routine tailored to you instead of a generic health shot.

Amla (high vitamin C + mild laxative effect) + ginger (heating & stimulates digestion) + black pepper (very strong digestive stimulant) + empty stomach = excessive stimulation of peristalsis + Pitta aggravation leading to watery loose motions in sensitive people. Curry leaves are mild, pink salt neutral - the main culprits are amla + ginger + pepper combo on empty stomach. ✓What to do now Stop the shot for 7–10 days and let gut calm down. ✓Reduce intensity when restarting: Use ½ tsp amla powder (instead of full shot) ½ inch ginger (reduce) Pinch black pepper (not more than 1/8 tsp) Take after light breakfast (not empty stomach) = add ½ tsp ghee or honey to buffer Pitta ✓Best alternative routine: Morning: plain warm water + ¼ tsp dry ginger powder Mid-morning: 1 tsp amla powder + honey with water (no pepper/ginger) Evening: fennel + cumin tea (½ tsp each boiled) = excellent for digestion without laxative effect Regards Dr Gursimran Jeet Singh MD Panchakarma
