Is there Ayurvedic treatment for AVN after hip dislocation in my 14-year-old son? - #55105

this is often correlated with Asthi-Majja Gata Vata (Vata localized in the bone and marrow) or Vata-Rakta, where the blood supply (Rakta) to the bone tissue (Asthi) is compromised, leading to tissue death. The goal of Ayurvedic management is to improve local blood circulation, strengthen the bone tissue, and pacify the aggravated Vata. Panchakarma •Kati Basti / Janu Basti: Creating a reservoir of medicated oil (like Sahacharadi Tailam or Ksheerabala Tailam) over the joint to deeply nourish the bone. •Shashtika Shali Pinda Sweda: A specialized massage using medicinal rice boluses cooked in milk and herbs. This is highly effective for “Mamsa-Asthi Pushti” (nourishing muscle and bone •The focus is on “Asthi-Poshaka” (bone-nourishing) and “Deepana-Pachana” (improving metabolism at the tissue level): Tikta Ksheera Basti: This is considered the gold standard for AVN. •Lakshadi Guggulu or Abha Guggulu are 1BD after food with normal water traditionally used to heal fractures and improve bone health. •Nourishing Diet: Include milk, ghee, almonds, and sesame seeds. Avoid “Vata-Vardhaka” foods (very spicy, dry, or cold fermented foods).
