how much protein in 100 gm roasted chana - #25041

Christopher

I am really worried about my diet lately, especially since I read that I should be getting enough protein. I was wondering, how much protein in 100 gm roasted chana? I started snacking on roasted chana because a friend told me it’s healthy and packed with nutrients. I eat them almost daily now. But, I'm not sure if I’m really getting enough protein from them. Like, I have been feeling kinda tired and my energy levels are low sometimes, you know? I've tried checking online, but the info is all over the place! Some say it has a ton, while others say not much at all. My aim is to include better protein sources, and it's frustrating not knowing the real deal! Would love to hear from you all on how much protein in 100 gm roasted chana really is and maybe if I should be considering other options too, any tips?

In 100 grams of roasted chana, you typically find about 18 to 20 grams of protein. It’s indeed a good source of protein, especially for a plant-based option. Given it’s rich snacking choice, incorporating roasted chana into your regular diet can contribute positively towards your protein intake. Just be mindful of portion sizes, as too much of anything, even something healthy, can come with downsides.

Feeling tired could be due to several factors, not just protein intake. Ayurveda suggests that low energy levels might be due to an imbalance in your doshas, particularly vata dosha. To address low energy, you might want to ensure a balanced intake of all foods, not just focusing on proteins solely. It’s crucial that you also pay attention to other macronutrients like carbs and healthy fats which play pivotal roles in sustaining energy levels, along with micronutrients.

Perhaps look into incorporating other protein-rich foodchoices. For instance, you could add lentils, paneer, nuts, seeds like chia or hemp, and dairy products if you consume them. If animal protein is part of your diet, options like eggs and lean meats are excellent sources. Remember, variety is key in nutrition.

Ayurvedic principles emphasize the importance of agni, or digestive fire, in maintaining optimal health. You may want to include spices like ginger and cumin in your foods to boost digestion, ensuring that nutrients are absorbed efficiently. Also, staying hydrated and maintaining regular meal times supports your body’s natural rhythms and energy levels.

If your fatigue persists despite dietary adjustments, it might be useful to consult a healthcare professional to rule out any underlying conditions or deficiencies. A holistic approach, combining balanced nutrition, an active lifestyle, and stress management, could help restore both energy and general wellbeing.
