how to find pure honey - #38614
I am really struggling to find pure honey lately! There was this whole thing at my local farmer's market, and they had tons of options, but honestly, I couldn't tell which one was the real deal. I mean, I’ve heard about all those fake honey scams and it worries me. Last week, I bought this jar labeled as “100% organic honey” but when I got home it looked kinda thick and like it had sugar crystals in it? I thought, isn’t pure honey supposed to be smooth? I've tried tasting a few brands since then, but there's defintely a difference. One jar tasted almost outright like syrup! I want to support local beekeepers too, but how do I know if their honey is legit? Is there a way to tell just by looking at it? Or maybe I should try heating it? I’ve read somewhere that real honey doesn’t crystallize in cold temps... but then again I get confused by all this info. When I asked the vendor, he was super nice but his answers felt kinda vague. Can anyone here share tips on how to find pure honey? Like what should I check for on the label? And what’s the best way to spot a scam? I want to feel confident about what I’m buying, you know? Any advice would really help me out!
