RITESH

I am student of class 12 and my exams are approaching. I want to know a healthy diet or healthy lifestyle which I could follow so that I can study for long hours without distraction or mental and physical weakness. I am going to prepare for a competitive exam for one year so I want to study for 12-14 hours daily. How do I manage it . Also some tips to keep mind calm so I can avoid any type of social media. Thank you.

To maintain mental and physical well-being while preparing for long study hours, focus on a balanced diet and lifestyle. Include fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, and seeds in your diet to nourish your body and mind. Add brain-boosting foods like almonds, walnuts, and turmeric. Hydrate well with water and herbal teas, avoiding caffeinated drinks. Ensure you have a good amount of protein from plant-based sources or lean meats to support energy and focus. For physical stamina, incorporate light exercise, such as yoga or walking, to reduce stress and improve circulation. Ensure 7-8 hours of quality sleep to rejuvenate your brain. Practice mindfulness or meditation to calm your mind and reduce stress. Keep a study routine and take short breaks every 1-2 hours to prevent burnout. For mental clarity and focus, avoid distractions like social media by setting specific times for relaxation and recreation. You could also keep your phone out of reach during study hours. Lastly, consider Ayurvedic herbs like Brahmi or Ashwagandha to support focus, reduce anxiety, and improve stamina. Remember, consistency and a well-balanced lifestyle will help you maintain peak performance during your studies.

Studying for long hours is no easy task, indeed. Especially when you aim to maintain focus without feeling wiped out. Ayurveda can def help with that by recommending a lifestyle and diet that aligns with your constitution (prakriti). Let’s dive into this, shall we?

Firstly, food. You gotta ensure your diet is sattvic. Foods that are fresh, light, and filled with prana (life force) help keep your mind clear. Think seasonal fruits, fresh veggies, nuts, and wholesome grains like brown rice and quinoa. Start your day with soaked almonds and a glass of warm water with a dash of lemon. For breakfast, maybe you try oatmeal with fruits and seeds. Lunch should be your largest meal; go for a balanced plate like dhal, chapati, and a leafy green sabzi. Keep dinner simple and light - something like a vegetable soup or khichdi would be ideal.

Snacking? Stick to brain-boosters like walnuts, raisins or even a small piece of dark chocolate. Oh, and drink plenty of water to keep your mind refreshed.

Now for lifestyle stuff. Begin your day with yoga or pranayama. Even 15-20 minutes of routine like Adho Mukha Svanasana or Nadi Shodhana helps in staying calm and centered. A quick face splash with cold water can do wonders for a weary head too, trust me.

About social media, setting up study blocks really works. Dedicate hour-long focus periods followed by 5-10 minutes of genuine break. In these pauses, maybe a brief walk, stretching or closing eyes while listening soft music instead of scrolling on gadgets. You can also download apps that block other unnecessary apps during certain timings!

Lastly, don’t forget sleep. Seriously! Around 7-8 hours per night is a must to rejuvenate your body and mind, so you remain sharp and energetic. Okay, hope this helps! All the best with your exams!
