Hello Chetna, could you share more about your lifestyle, diet, and daily habits? How frequently do you experience cold and cough, and are there specific triggers such as weather, food, or stress? Do you have any known allergies or sensitivities? Additionally, how long have you been experiencing these issues, and have you noticed any patterns, such as the timing of the fever or vomiting sensation after eating?
From an Ayurvedic perspective, your symptoms suggest an imbalance in the Kapha dosha, which governs the respiratory system and mucus production. Recurrent cold, cough, and vomiting sensations can indicate excess Kapha or Ama (toxins) in the body. To address this, herbs like Tulsi, Ginger, and Trikatu can help clear congestion and balance digestion. Triphala can aid in detoxification, while Sitopaladi Churna helps with respiratory issues. A warm, light diet and avoiding cold, heavy, or greasy foods can also support your recovery. Regular use of steam inhalation and warm water gargles can help ease throat irritation.

Chetna, your symptoms—frequent cold and cough, repeated antibiotic use, occasional fever, and nausea after eating—suggest low immunity, weak digestion, and Kapha imbalance. Instead of relying on antibiotics, Ayurveda focuses on boosting natural immunity and strengthening digestion to prevent frequent infections.
⸻
1. Remedies for Frequent Cold, Cough & Fever
✅ Sitopaladi Churna – Take ½ tsp with honey twice daily to clear mucus and prevent infections.
✅ Chyawanprash – Eat 1 tsp daily in the morning for immunity.
✅ Turmeric Milk – Drink warm milk with ½ tsp turmeric before bed.
✅ Tulsi, Ginger & Mulethi Kadha – Boil 5 tulsi leaves + ½ inch ginger + 1 small mulethi piece in water and drink twice daily.
✅ Steam Inhalation – Add ajwain or eucalyptus oil for relief from nasal blockage and cough.
🚫 Avoid antibiotics unless absolutely necessary—they weaken natural immunity over time.
⸻
2. Remedy for Nausea After Eating
✅ Jeera (Cumin) & Ajwain Water – Boil 1 tsp cumin + ½ tsp ajwain in 1 cup water and drink before meals to improve digestion.
✅ Amla Powder with Honey – Take 1 tsp after meals to prevent nausea.
✅ Elaichi (Cardamom) & Fennel Tea – Helps reduce bloating and nausea.
✅ Ginger Candy or Ginger Water – Chew on dry ginger candy or drink ginger tea after meals.
🚫 Avoid overeating, cold foods, and heavy fried foods, as they slow digestion and cause nausea.
⸻
3. Immunity-Boosting Diet
Foods to Eat:
✔️ Homemade warm meals (khichdi, dal-rice, roti with sabzi).
✔️ Buttermilk with jeera – Improves digestion.
✔️ Seasonal fruits (papaya, guava, pomegranate) for immunity.
✔️ Dry fruits (almonds, walnuts, dates) for strength.
✔️ Coconut water – Prevents dehydration and fever weakness.
Foods to Avoid:
❌ Cold, refrigerated foods (cold drinks, ice cream, raw salads).
❌ Spicy & fried foods (they cause nausea and weaken digestion).
❌ Too much tea/coffee (they worsen acidity and nausea).
⸻
4. Lifestyle Tips for Long-Term Relief
✅ Sunlight exposure (15 minutes daily) – Natural Vitamin D boosts immunity.
✅ Daily exercise or yoga – Increases metabolism and immunity.
✅ Avoid excessive mobile/laptop use at night – Poor sleep weakens immunity.
✅ Drink warm water throughout the day – Flushes out toxins and mucus.
⸻
Your Daily Routine for Relief
Morning:
• Chyawanprash + warm water on an empty stomach.
• Jeera-Ajwain water before breakfast to prevent nausea.
Afternoon:
• Light, home-cooked meal (khichdi, roti-sabzi).
• Tulsi-ginger kadha after lunch.
Evening:
• Dry fruits & herbal tea instead of snacks.
Night:
• Turmeric milk before bed.
• Sitopaladi churna with honey if cough is present.
⸻
Conclusion
Since you’re getting frequent infections, your immune system is weak, and digestion is not strong enough to absorb nutrients properly. Instead of antibiotics, focus on long-term immunity building with herbs, a light diet, and lifestyle changes.

Getting hit with cough all the time’s gotta be frustrating, ain't it? But hey, don’t worry, let’s untangle this using Ayurveda. Sounds like your kapha dosha might be having a party, considering those cold symptoms. And that nausea after food... it’s like your agni, or digestive fire, is fuming down a bit. Let's try to fix this up from the base.
To start with something warm, ginger tea can be your best friend. It has this kick that helps rekindle your agni and dry out the kapha. You just need to boil a small chunk of ginger in water and have it twice a day—mid-morning and late afternoon. Trust me, simple yet effective!
Also, steer clear of cold or oily foods. They’re like steroids for kapha, and ya don’t want that! Opt for warm soups instead and sprinkle some black pepper on top.
Now when it comes to the coughing, talisadi churna, a classic blend, could be your savior. A half teaspoon with honey might smooth those rough coughy nights. If you’re not sure where to get it, most Ayurvedic stores have it right in the corner.
Fever & all, it’s a signal.. listen to it. Rest is key, skipping that phase might worsen things. Plus, try steam inhalation with eucalyptus oil - clears up any nasal blockade, feels like you're breathing fresh again.
On the vomiting sensation, try a bit of amla chutney before meals. It's refreshing and supports the stomach lining. Just blend some amla with a wee bit pinch of cumin and salt & you’re ready.
But remember, if these troubles keep bouncing back or worsen, checking in with a modern doc’s a must. Ayurvedic tweaks are grand, but doesn’t replace immediate care if it's dicey.
It’s all about balance at the end, catching those habits and slowly flipping them makes all the difference, so give it some time.
