Doctors’ responses

Hey there, sounds like you've been through quite a rollercoaster with those pesky fibroids. Let's see how Ayurveda can help you out. Although complete eradication isn’t guaranteed, shrinking them and managing symptoms is often possible. First up, diet plays a big role. You'd want to focus on a kapha-reducing diet. Fibroids are often linked to kapha imbalance, which means cutting down on dairy, red meat, and processed foods. Oh, sugar too! Try to eat light, fresh, and warm meals—think along the lines of lentil soups, steamed veggies, and plenty of spices like turmeric and ginger, which are anti-inflammatory. Add more greens like spinach and parsley to your diet – they're fibroid’s kryptonite! Managing stress is another key part. Stress can increase vata, leading to more imbalance. Yoga, meditation, or even just a walk in nature can work wonders for calming your mind. Maybe skip the hectic workout routines and stick with gentle yoga poses that focus on hip and abdominal area. Herbal supplements can also be effective. Ashoka (Saraca indica) and Lodhra (Symplocos racemosa) are two herbs often recommended for uterine wellbeing. But these aren't quick fixes – you gotta take them consistently, usually twice daily, but it’d be best to check with a pro who's familiar with your health history. And oh, warm castor oil packs on your abdomen. They’re not just comforting but can help in reducing inflammation and pain. Just don’t do this during your periods. Apply the pack for about 30 minutes a few times a week. Staying hydrated is crucial. Drink warm water throughout the day instead of anything ice-cold, which can interfere with digestion and nutrient distribution in the body. While Ayurveda has tons to offer, fibroids don’t always respond predictably. If symptoms get more intense or are affecting your life in a big way, you should get some medical advice too – sometimes it takes a team approach! Anyway, take it step by step, and remember, changes take time, so patience is key!
