Lady age 59 yrs suffering from fever since 15th May, running temperature between 102 to 104 Feeling very weak and always sleepy Widal test by Slide S Typhoid O 1:40 S Typhoid H. 1:160 C R P. 65 Please advise ayurvedic treatment

In Ayurveda, typhoid fever closely correlates with Vatika-Paittika Jwara or Santata Jwara (under the umbrella of Vishwadhanyaj Jwara or toxic/infectious fevers). 1.Internal Medications (Abhyantara Chikitsa) ​For Residual Fever & Ama Digestion •​Maha Sudarshan Vati / Ghanvati: 2 tablets twice a day after food with lukewarm water. •Amritarishta: 15–20 ml with an equal quantity of lukewarm water, twice a day after meals. 2.For Deep Debility & Immunity (Balya) ​Because the patient is 59 and experiencing significant weakness, gentle yet effective Vata-mollifying and tissue-nourishing herbs are crucial: ••​Guduchi Satva: 500 mg twice a day with honey or warm water. It reduces residual heat while acting as a potent Rasayana (rejuvenator). ••​Lakshadi Guggulu or Ashwagandha Ghanvati: 1 tablet twice daily (if the acute digestive crisis/fever has settled) to manage profound body aches and fatigue. ••​Drakshasava: 15 ml with equal water after lunch. Excellent for correcting post-fever anemia, improving appetite, and relieving weakness. 3.Dietary Management (Ahara) – Crucial Phase ​In Typhoid (Vantika-Paittika Jwara), the intestinal mucosa is sensitive and Agni is extremely weak. Heavy food will cause a relapse (Jwara Punaravartana). ••​Days 1–3 (Liquid/Semi-solid): Manda or Peya (scum/thin gruel of old rice or puffed rice cooked with a pinch of dry ginger (Shunthi) and coriander (Dhanyaka)). ••​Days 4–7 (Soft diet): Yusha (Moong dal soup) or Khichdi prepared with split green gram, well-cooked and easily digestible, garnished with a tiny amount of cow’s ghee. ••​Hydration: Water boiled with Musta (Nut grass), Parpataka, or Shunthi, cooled down to lukewarm. Never give cold water. ​4. Lifestyle & Rest (Vihara) ​Complete Bed Rest (Shramahara): Absolute physical and mental rest is required. Moving around prematurely will aggravate Vata and worsen the weakness.

This looks like a high-grade infectious fever with significant inflammation (CRP 65) and a Widal pattern suggestive of typhoid exposure. In a 59-year-old, this should be treated as medically urgent first, not only as an Ayurvedic case… Control infection with modern treatment first, and support recovery with light diet + cooling Ayurvedic herbs + strict rest.

A fever of 102–104°F with CRP 65 in a 59-year-old needs urgent medical supervision. Widal alone is not enough for confirmation, and with severe weakness/sleepiness this should not be managed only with Ayurveda. Ensure adequate fluids, coconut water/ORS, soft foods like khichdi, and complete rest. Supportive Ayurvedic care: Guduchi ghan vati – 1 tablet twice daily Sanjeevani vati – 1 tablet twice daily after food Amritarishta – 15 ml with equal water twice daily after food Please continue prescribed medicines and seek immediate review if fever persists, confusion develops, breathing changes, or weakness worsens. Hello, A persistent fever of 102-104 since 15th may in a 59 year old is not something to manage only at home, especially with -marked weakness -excessive sleepiness -high continuous fever First important point A slide widal test alone is NOT reliable enough to confirm typhoid. At this age, prolonged high fever can also be due to -typhoid -dengue, malaria -bacterial infection -urinary infection -pneumonia -viral fever -sepsis etc Please do these ASAP -CBC -CRP/ESR -Blood culture -Typhi IgM/proper widal interpretation -dengue malaria test -urine routine -LFT/KFT excessive sleepiness with high fever can sometimes indicate dehydration , infection severity, or electrolyte imbalance Ayurvedic management 1) Guduchi ghan vati= 2 tabs twice daily after meals =best ayurvedic support for fever recovery and immunity 2) Sudarshan ghan vati=2 tabs twice daily after meals =recurret fever pattern reduction, body ache, weakness 3) Sanjeevani vati= 1 tab twice daily after meals =only if digestion is week and heaviness present Diet during fever -rice kanji -moong dal soup -thin khichdi -coconut water -pomegranate -light homemade meals Avoid -oily foods -heavy milk products -fried food -outside food -excessive spices Hydration continue ORS and warm water sip frequently Especially with high fever Simple home remedies 1) coriander-cumin-fennel water= Mild digestive support 2) Rest= complete rest is important at 59, prolonged high fever can exhaust the body quickly Ayurveda can support recovery, digestion, immunity, and strength, but 104 F fever for many days in a 59 year old needs proper medical evaluation urgently Do follow Hope this might be helpful Thank you
