Your concerns about joint pain and digestion indeed resonate with Ayurvedic principles, where such symptoms often intertwine. In Ayurveda, poor digestion or “Agni” can lead to the accumulation of “Ama,” a form of toxin, which contributes to body inflammation and joint discomfort.

For your joint pain, it might helpful to focus on pacifying “Vata dosha,” which is primarily responsible for movement and can cause discomfort when out of balance. Practicing daily self-massage with warm sesame oil, particularly focusing on affected areas like your knees, fingers, and hands, can provide relief. Also, try applying a warm compress after the massage to soothe the joints. Including ginger and turmeric in your diet can be beneficial, as both have anti-inflammatory properties that help in reducing joint pain.

Regarding your digestion, especially constipation during travel, maintaining a routine can be challenging. Try to incorporate a warm, cooked diet emphasizing foods that are easier to digest. You could consume warm water with lemon first thing in the morning to stimulate digestion. Trifala, a well-known ayurvedic herbal formulation, could be taken before bed (1 tsp in warm water) to promote detoxification and regular bowel movements.

Pay attention to consuming meals in a calm environment, avoiding multitasking while eating could improve digestion. Regular intake of “Cumin” and “Fennel” seeds also helps with digestion. Sipping on them in a warm, herbal tea can ease travel-related digestive issues.

In yout lifestyle, engaging in gentle excercise like yoga that focuses on enhancing flexibility and circulation, such as “Pavanamuktasana” (Wind-Relieving Pose) and “Bhujangasana” (Cobra Pose), can be beneficial. Try to practice regularly, even if just for a few minutes, to keep your joints limber and alleviate stiffness.

However, please note if pain is persistent or severe it may require immediate medical attention. While Ayurveda can support your overall well-being, it should complement, not replace, medical advice. If there’s any sharp pain, swelling, or signs of infection like redness, especially in the knees or other joints, you must consult a healthcare professional urgently.
