how much protein is there in 100 grams of soya chunks - #24587

Levi

I am really struggling to get enough protein in my diet lately! I’ve been trying to switch to more plant-based options, and I heard that soya chunks are super high in protein. But, like, how much protein is there in 100 grams of soya chunks? I read somewhere it’s a lot, but when I tried to look up the exact amount, it seemed to vary—some sites said 50 grams and others mentioned only 30 grams. It’s confusing!!! Last week, I started incorporating soya chunks into my meals, thinking it would be an easy way to boost protein, but now I’m doubting if I'm even getting what I thought I was. I made a stir-fry with 100 grams but I'm not sure how much protein that really gave me. If I’m aiming for a certain daily intake, this info would be super helpful. Any input on how much protein is there in 100 grams of soya chunks would be really appreciated! Stressing over these numbers is stressing me out!

In 100 grams of soya chunks, you can typically find about 52 grams of protein, which indeed makes them a fantastic plant-based protein source. However, it’s important to note that these values can slightly vary depending on the brand you’re using or where they are sourced. Sometimes the processes or additives can account for minor differences in numbers.

Since you’re making dietary changes, from an Ayurvedic perspective, it considers your body’s constitution, or prakriti, and how it interacts with the food you eat. Soya chunks are rich in protein, but they are also considered as having a cooling property and can be difficult to digest for individuals with a kapha or vata imbalance as it may disturb agni the digestive fire. If you notice any digestive issues after consuming soya, consider pairing them with warming spices such as ginger, cumin, or turmeric, which are known to enhance digestion and promote balance.

Ensure you soak the soya chunks in hot water for 10-15 mintues before cooking; this process makes them softer and easier on your digestion. Incorporating them into a stir-fry with fresh vegetables and spices is a great way to balance its properties, making it quicker for you to achieve proper nourishment.

So if you’re striving for a specific protein intake, knowing that 100 grams contributes about 52 grams of protein can help guide you. Nevertheless, always listen to your body’s signals. Also, variety in your diet will support well-being, by including other protein sources like lentils, beans, or nuts. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, it might be a sound idea to consult with a dietitian or holistic practitioner who can provide tailored recommendations to best suit your dietary needs & lifestyle.
