I am feeling a bit confused about something that's been bothering me for a while now. A few weeks ago, I had this delicious fish curry for dinner—it was heavenly! But then my friend mentioned something about curd and fish not being a good combo...and I couldn't help but freak out a little. What happens if we eat curd after eating fish? I mean, I enjoy adding curd to pretty much anything, and after that meal, I reached for some raita. Now I'm all worried that I might've done something terrible to my stomach. I've read all sorts of things saying it can cause issues like indigestion or something worse. Is that really true? I've been feeling a bit bloated and uneasy after meals lately, but I honestly thought it was from just eating too much. Could it be cause of the curd and fish situation? I just can’t wrap my head around this... Should I avoid eating curd after fish in the future? Or is there a way to balance it out naturally? Help would really be appreciated!

If you frequently experience indigestion or similar symptoms, it may help to minimize combining fish and curd in your meals. Instead, you could plan your meals such that you enjoy these food items separately on different days. There’s no stern rule in Ayurveda banning all food combinations but listening to one’s body is key. If curd and fish is a duo you adore, and you don’t usually notice issues, a tiny amount probably won’t cause any harm.

As for balancing it out naturally, incorporating ginger or cumin in your meals can support digestion, try having a piece of ginger seasoned with lemon and salt before eating. In the end, remember that Ayurveda is deeply personal, taking cues from how your body reacts will guide you best.
