For a 3 mm kidney stone, especially with back pain and high uric acid, there's a range of Ayurvedic approaches you can try. Ensure you're also in touch with a healthcare provider to watch over sudden symptoms or worsening pain, since that's important too. To begin with, let's try balancing dietary habits. Reducing purine-rich foods like red meat, shellfish, and certain beans will help in lowering uric acid levels. Also, consider moderating alcohol and sugar intake. As you have hypothyroidism, a consistent meal pattern helps keep metabolism smooth, so don't skip meals. Drinking water is crucial. Aim for 2.5 to 3 liters daily. It's natural to think more water seems too simple, but staying hydrated helps stones move out. Besides, the Age-old Ayurvedic remedy of barley water, or Yava Ushira Kashaya, may assist in flushing the kidneys. Prepare it by boiling 1/4 cup of barley in 4 cups of water until it reduces to half, and drink it throughout the day. Herbs like Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) and Punarnava (Boerhaavia diffusa) are known to support kidney health. Before trying these, consult an Ayurvedic practitioner, especially considering your medications for hypothyroidism. Pay attention to your daily lifestyle too. Gentle exercises, like walking or yoga, especially twists and leg raises, support kidney function but avoid high-impact activities as they might cause pain. Manage stress through deep breathing or meditation — it's more significant than one might think. Monitor your symptoms, and seek medical advice if pain increases or doesn’t ease up. When there's any severe pain or other concerning symptoms, like fever or blood in urine, it’s vital to get medical attention immediately. These methods are supportive, but timely medical consultation is crucial.
