If presently if your wife is stable and dosesnt have any symptoms it’s better once to meet ayurvedic practitioner directly and get suggestions, In this case if we see the patient and then advise it will be good rather advising based on symptoms

Chiari malformation and syringomyelia are complex conditions where the brain tissue extends into the spinal canal or a fluid-filled cyst, respectively, may develop, causing pain and neurological symptoms. In Ayurveda, while we strive for holistic healing, it's crucial to approach such conditions with caution, given their potential severity. Always prioritize immediate medical action when needed. In this case, the pain and numbness your wife experiences are akin to imbalances in Vata dosha, often characterized by pain, stiffness, and sensory disturbances. Ayurveda can offer supportive therapies to help manage symptoms but should be considered along with medical supervision, especially since surgery has been advised. Begin with gentle Abhyanga (oil massage) using warm sesame oil, focusing on the affected areas. This can help soothe Vata and improve blood circulation. However, please consult her physician before implementing, given her condition. Dietary changes may also support her recovery. Consider a diet that pacifies Vata, involving warm, cooked, and nourishing meals. Incorporate ghee, cooked vegetables, whole grains, and avoid cold, dry foods. Ginger tea can help with circulation and reduce discomfort. Encourage her to practice Pranayama, specifically Nadi Shodhana, to improve energy flow and calm the mind. Gentle yoga can be beneficial too, but any physical activity should be tailored to her comfort, maybe stopped if pain increases. Turmeric, with its anti-inflammatory properties, can be considered. Mix a pinch of it with warm milk each day to aid in reducing inflammation, if tolerated well. While Ayurveda can offer supportive measures, these are not substitutes for the direct treatment of Chiari malformation or syringomyelia. Given the potential consequences of delaying surgery, definitely discuss these options wtih your medical professional. Always prioritize safety and ensure any Ayurvedic interventions are complementary to the advised medical treatments.
