Your symptoms of spine pain, sleeping disorder, and nerve-related issues suggest an imbalance in the Vata dosha, which governs movement and the nervous system in the body. Vata imbalance, particularly in the right side of the spine and peripheral nerves, can lead to conditions such as nerve pulls, joint discomfort, and muscle stiffness. The disturbed sleep is likely linked to Vata's qualities of dryness, lightness, and mobility, which can cause restlessness and an inability to settle the mind and body for restful sleep. The back pain, especially in the middle right side, may also be associated with muscular or skeletal imbalances, aggravated by stress, poor posture, or prolonged sitting.
To address these issues, it's important to focus on calming and grounding Vata through dietary and lifestyle adjustments. A warm, nourishing diet with cooked foods, healthy fats like ghee, and spices such as turmeric, ginger, and ashwagandha can help soothe Vata and promote circulation. Herbal remedies like Bala, Ashwagandha, and Turmeric can support muscle and joint health, reducing inflammation and pain. For nerve pain, the use of oils such as sesame or Mahanarayan oil for regular massage (Abhyanga) can help relieve stiffness, promote relaxation, and reduce tension. Additionally, gentle yoga practices focusing on spinal alignment, flexibility, and relaxation, combined with deep breathing exercises, can help ease both the spine pain and improve sleep quality. It's also essential to establish a regular sleep routine, avoid stimulants like caffeine before bed, and ensure the sleeping environment is calm and supportive. Lastly, managing stress through meditation or mindfulness can significantly improve both your physical and mental health, leading to better sleep and relief from spine and nerve discomfort.

Sounds like you're dealing with a bundle of issues, and they’re all intertwined! When it comes to spine pain, especially on the right side, Ayurveda often looks at it through the lens of Vata dosha—the dosha associated with movement and space. Imbalances in Vata can cause discomfort in the joints and nerves. But let’s not overdo the jargon. Simply put, we need to get you back in balance and address that discomfort.
Now, sleeping disorder could be a separate matter, or it may be tied up with the pain. It’s not uncommon for physical pain to worsen due to poor sleep, and vice versa. Let's tackle this piecemeal, though. For your spine, gentle yoga stretches can be really helpful. Try some forward bends, like Uttanasana (standing forward bend), or Marjariasana (the cat-cow pose) to release tension. Don’t push it hard though, listen to your body.
You could also try warm compresses over the afflicted area. Use a hot water bottle (or even a warm damp towel) for about 10-15 minutes a few times a day. This not only relaxes the muscles but ameliorate circulation.
Next up, your nerve and joint troubles. Mahanarayan oil is a fantastic Ayurvedic remedy for achy joints and nerves. A gentle massage with it can do wonders, helping the Vata to settle down a bit. These oils, especially when they're warmed up a bit before application, soothe inflammation and can help alleviate that nerve "pull" feeling.
And sleep! Oh, I hear ya. Tricky thing. Lighting a relaxing incense like sandalwood or using a few drops of lavender oil on your pillow might make a significant difference. Sip on some warm milk with a pinch of nutmeg right before bed (trust me, it really can help calm the mind).
Finally, pay attention to your diet. Stick to warm, nourishing foods—like well-cooked grains, soups, and stews—and avoid cold or raw foods as they can exacerbate Vata.
And there’s a caveat—if the pain is intense or getting worse, don't wait. Please consult a medical professional, particularly if there's any numbness or sudden weakness involved. Safety first, truly!
