Doctors’ responses
Chronic pharyngitis combined with allergies and a high IgE count suggests an ongoing immune response, which may be triggered by allergens. In Ayurveda, such conditions are often linked to an imbalance in the Kapha and Vata doshas, which affect the respiratory system. To manage and potentially reduce the recurrence of pharyngitis and allergies, you can focus on strengthening your immune system, cleansing the respiratory tract, and addressing the root cause of the allergies.
Herbal Remedies: Ayurvedic herbs like Tulsi (Holy Basil), Triphala, Licorice (Mulethi), and Ginger are known to support respiratory health, reduce inflammation, and boost immunity. You can prepare a tea with these herbs, or take them in their natural supplement form.
Nasal Cleansing: Regular practice of Neti (nasal irrigation) with saline water helps clear allergens and mucus from the nasal passages, reducing allergy symptoms and preventing throat irritation.
Dietary Adjustments: Avoid cold, heavy foods and dairy products that can aggravate Kapha and increase mucus production. Instead, focus on warm, easily digestible foods, and add spices like turmeric, cumin, and black pepper to help reduce inflammation.
Lifestyle Practices: Breathing exercises like Pranayama (particularly Anulom Vilom and Bhastrika) can help cleanse the respiratory system, improve lung function, and reduce stress, which is often a contributing factor to allergies and inflammation.
Ayurvedic treatments: If you have access to an Ayurvedic practitioner, therapies like Rasaayana (rejuvenation therapy) and Nasya (nasal drops with medicated oils) may help clear accumulated toxins and strengthen immunity.
While Ayurveda offers complementary support, it's crucial to work with a healthcare professional for accurate diagnosis and treatment, particularly if you're already on allopathic medication. Integrating Ayurvedic remedies gradually, under guidance, could be beneficial in managing your allergies and pharyngitis.

Pharyngitis and allergies, frustrating combo, I get it . With high Ige count and DNS, seems like your body's working hard to cope. Balancing your doshas, especially Kapha, can help improve things.
First, let's talk diet. Avoid cold or heavy foods like dairy and processed sugars since they can worsen Kapha, leading to more mucus and allergies. Instead, warm, cooked foods with spices like ginger, turmeric, and black pepper help soothe inflammation and improve digestion. Sipping on herbal teas made from tulsi (holy basil) or licorice root can soothe throat irritation.
Breathing exercises, they might sound simple but they work wonders. Pranayama techniques like Anulom Vilom (alternate nostril breathing) can improve nasal passage and balance Vata. Try practicing for 10 minutes every morning. Breath freely, nothing to rush!
Now, about DNS, though Ayurveda has remedies, severe cases may need surgery. Best to consult an ENT specialist for that. Combining treatments can often provide a better overall solution.
A homemade steam inhalation with a few drops of eucalyptus oil or mint leaves can help clear nasal passages and reduce any throat irritation. Do this a couple of times a week.
Herbal nose drops might help too – Anu taila, for example. Apply a drop in each nostril daily, but a word of caution, test it first to make sure there's no adverse reaction.
Also, keep a humidifier in your room, dry air can aggravate pharyngitis. Stay hydrated, 7-8 glasses of warm water a day can flush toxins and keep throat moisture intact.
Managing stress is huge, yoga or meditation fits into your character, can regulate immune responses and ease allergies.
Remember, healing is a journey, not a sprint. It's always best to talk with an Ayurvedic professional before starting new remedies, to make sure it fits your unique constitution. Take care and let me know how it goes! 🙌✌️
