From an Ayurvedic perspective, your symptoms suggest an imbalance that may involve Vata dosha, which governs movement and is responsible for pain and stiffness. This kind of pain often reflects issues in the asthi dhatu (bone tissue) or majja dhatu (nervous tissue). However, given the severity and location of your pain, it’s crucial to address any possibility of fractures, severe sprains, or circulatory issues. Seeking immediate medical evaluation from a licensed healthcare provider should be a priority to rule out such conditions before pursuing further Ayurvedic interventions.

Once serious issues are ruled out, there are specific Ayurvedic approaches that might help alleviate mild to moderate pain and support healing. First, local application of warm oil can respond soothingly to Vata ailments. Use sesame oil, which is warming and grounding, gently massaging it onto the affected area. Ensure to do this in slow, circular motions which helps calm aggravated Vata.

Another key aspect is pacifying your overall Vata dosha. This includes regular meal timings, consuming warm, cooked foods, avoiding raw and cold foods, and maintaining a warm and calm environment. Incorporating ginger or turmeric into your diet may also assist due to their anti-inflammatory properties. Turmeric milk (a cup of warm milk with a 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric) before bed could help reduce inflammation.

Internally, herbal formulations such as Dasmoolarishtam or Maharasnadi Kashayam might work well but should be taken under guidance from an Ayurvedic practitioner.

Gentle stretching exercises as part of your routine can also help. Consider practicing mild leg stretches or yoga like Pavanamuktasana and Supta Padangusthasana that involve laying down, but they must be done without strenuous effort to avoid aggravation of pain.

Remember, given your inability to move your ankle without pain, seeking a medical professional to get a proper diagnosis is crucial before implementing these remedies. They are supportive once emergency situations ruled out.
