I infected with chickenguniya virus in September2025. I am still have swelling and suffering from joint pains especially in arms and hands

Post-chikungunya joint pain and swelling can continue for months due to chronic inflammation and Vata aggravation. Take Yogaraj Guggulu 2 tablets twice daily after food with warm water for 6–8 weeks. Maharasnadi Kwath 15 ml with equal warm water twice daily after food. Dashmoolarishta 20 ml with equal water twice daily after meals. Apply warm Mahanarayana Taila or Kottamchukkadi Taila on painful joints twice daily and do mild hot fomentation. Diet: Avoid curd, cold water, refrigerated foods, excess pulses, and sour foods. Use warm food, garlic, dry ginger, turmeric, and methi.

Your symptoms are commonly seen after chikungunya infection and in Ayurveda this condition is considered a post-viral Vata-Kapha inflammatory disorder, where the virus leaves behind joint inflammation, stiffness, swelling, and muscle weakness even after fever has recovered. Morning stiffness and swelling in hands and arms especially indicate aggravated Vata lodged in joints (Sandhigata Vata with Ama). Ayurvedic Treatment Plan Internal Medicines • Mahayograj Guggulu – 1 tablet twice daily after meals with warm water Helps reduce chronic joint pain, stiffness, and swelling. • Simhanad Guggulu – 1 tablet twice daily after meals Useful when swelling and morning stiffness are more prominent. • Dashmool Kwath or Rasnadi Kashayam – 15–20 ml with equal warm water twice daily before food Reduces inflammation and improves mobility. • Ashwagandha Churna – 1 teaspoon at bedtime with warm milk or water Improves muscle strength, fatigue, and recovery. • If pain is more severe, Yogaraj Guggulu External Therapies • Daily gentle massage on hands and painful joints with Mahanarayan Taila or Kottamchukkadi Taila followed by warm fomentation. This improves circulation and reduces stiffness. • Avoid exposure to cold water and cold weather as it worsens Vata. Diet & Lifestyle Prefer: Warm freshly cooked food Moong dal, garlic, turmeric, ginger, methi Warm water throughout the day Light stretching and slow joint movements Avoid: Curd at night Cold drinks, refrigerated food Excess sour, bakery, fried and packaged foods Day sleeping and overexertion Simple Home Remedy Boil: 1 glass water ½ tsp dry ginger ¼ tsp turmeric Few methi seeds Reduce slightly and drink once daily warm.

Post Chikanguniya Arthritis is usually common. Don’t need to worry much, medicine and diet restrictions will help to control the disease. Avoid vata increasing ahar like Potato, Brinjal, Chana, Rajma, etc. also avoid curd, butter, cheese, paneer and fermented items. Take the following medicine for 15 days and follow up. 1. Amrita Arishta 10ml twice daily after food with water. 2. Simhanada Guggulu 2-2-2 after food with water 3. Chandraprabha Vati 1-1-1 after food.
