When it comes to Plagiocephaly, especially at the age of 17, the boney structures of the skull are already fully developed, which makes significant changes to head shape through non-surgical methods quite challenging. In Ayurveda, the physiological approaches focus primarily on aspects that contribute to overall balance and harmony within the body, rather than structural changes.

First, it is essential to ensure that her neurological growth and function are unrestricted. Although changing the skull shape could not be feasible at this stage, enhancing her health and well-being should remain a priority. Ayurveda can support your daughter’s overall health by nourishing her tissues (dhatus) and ensuring optimal function.

In terms of diet, encourage a tridoshic-balancing diet. This involves incorporating fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and dairy products. Foods like sesame seeds, almonds, and ghee can help in strengthening body tissues.

Regular Abhyanga (oil massage) with warm sesame oil might enhance her general health, supporting circulation and muscle tone. Consider advising her to practice Pranayama, specifically Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing), which helps calm the mind and balance the body’s energies.

Regardless of these supportive lifestyle changes, it is crucial to consider consulting with a healthcare provider specializing in orthopedics or craniofacial structure, as they may offer additional information regarding potential medical interventions, such as surgery, if they are appropriate and needed.

Be assured that while Ayurveda emphasizes holistic health, involving contemporary medical opinions can also be a vital component of addressing specific structural conditions like Plagiocephaly. While harmless routines can support her overall health, it is equally essential to explore all potential medical resources available.
