1.Cancer medications + long-term use Many cancer treatments: Increase bone dryness and degeneration Aggravate Vata dosha (the main cause of osteoarthritis pain) Reduce joint lubrication (synovial fluid) So even if OA was stable before, flare-ups can happen suddenly. 2️⃣ Why calcium, magnesium & D3 are not helping These supplements: Support bone strength ❌ Do not reduce inflammation ❌ Do not lubricate joints ❌ Do not calm aggravated Vata That’s why pain can continue or worsen despite taking them. 3️⃣ Why pain increased in < 1 week This pattern usually indicates: Vata flare Dryness + nerve sensitivity Not structural damage or fracture (good sign) Because: No injury No activity-related trigger No energy loss or systemic symptoms What you should do NOW (important) ✅ 1️⃣ External treatment (very effective) Start daily warm oil application: Use Mahanarayan oil or Ksheerabala oil Massage affected joints gently Apply warm compress for 10–15 minutes 👉 This alone can reduce pain by 30–40% in 5–7 days. ✅ 2️⃣ Internal Ayurvedic support (choose carefully) If tolerated: Yograj Guggulu – reduces joint inflammation Mahayograj Guggulu – better if stiffness + weakness Ashwagandha – supports nerves and bone strength ⚠️ These should be taken under supervision, especially with a cancer history. ✅ 3️⃣ Diet changes (very important) Increase: Warm, cooked foods Ghee (small amount) Milk with turmeric (if digestion allows) Moong dal, rice, oats Reduce: Cold foods Raw salads Excess tea/coffee Nightshade vegetables (tomato, potato, brinjal) ✅ 4️⃣ Gentle movement (do NOT rest completely) Short walks Joint range-of-motion exercises Avoid sudden twisting or sitting on the floor Complete rest worsens Vata pain.
