Ayurveda, this is usually considered a Vata-Kapha imbalance with Pratishyaya The treatment focuses on reducing mucus, calming inflammation, and strengthening immunity Sitopaladi Churna – 1 teaspoon, twice daily with warm milk or honey Trikatu Churna – 1 teaspoon, with honey once a day if mucus is thick Tulsi Leaves – 3–4 fresh leaves chewed or Tulsi tea Kanakasava 20ml bd– especially for cough Nasal oil (Anu Thailam or sesame oil) – put 1 drop in each nostril at night to reduce dryness, irritation, and dust allergy Avoid cold, oily, and heavy foods — they increase Kapha and mucus. Eat warm, cooked foods and use ginger, black pepper, turmeric in food.

Hello Vikas, I get how difficult it is dealing with a constant cough, stuffy nose, congested throat, and feeling tired all the time, especially when it’s those darn dust allergies acting up. If it has been going on for half a year it can mess with your sleep, breathing and energy .But dont worry we can just fix the problem at its source! YOUR CONCERN – Non-stop cough – A lot of mucus in your nose and throat – Dust makes things worse – Feeling tired – It’s been dragging on for more than 6 months It looks like it’s more than just a cold; it could be a long-term allergy thing. WHAT AYURVEDA SAYS: This sounds like Pratishyaya + Kaphaja Kasa Here’s the breakdown: – Too much Kapha dosha = sticky mucus – Ama (toxins) = your immune system freaking out over dust – Weak lungs (Pranavaha srotas) = easy to get allergies So, every time you breathe in dust, your body overreacts, causing cough, mucus, and the blocked-up feeling. Here’s the plan: – Balnacing the Kapha – Get rid of Ama – Make your lung stronger TREATMENT PLAN: 1.Sitopaladi Churna Great for allergy coughs and mucus. ½ teaspoon with honey, twice a day after you eat. It helps to: – Dry up mucus – Relaxes throat – Stops allergy coughs 2 Talishadi Churna It helps clear chest and nasal congestion. How to take it: ½ teaspoon with honey, twice a day. It helps to: – Dries extra Kapha – Clears sinuses – Helps you breathe better 3. Haridra Khanda This is a good Ayurvedic medicine for allergies. How to take it: 1 teaspoon twice a day with warm milk or water. It helps to: – Keeps allergic reactions under control – Lowers dust sensitivity – Makes your immunity stronger 4. Anu Taila (nasal oil) Put 2 drops in each nostril every morning. It helps to: – Keeps your nose protected – Stops dust allergies – Less sneezing and mucus WHAT TO EAT AND DO: Avoid: – Cold drinks – Ice cream –Curd at night –Fried food – Dust Do: – Drink warm water – Sip ginger tea – Add turmeric to milk – Inhale steam every day WHEN WILL YOU FEEL BETTER? – Less mucus in 5–7 days – Coughing eases up in 2 weeks – Allergies get better in 4–6 weeks – Stronger immunity in 2–3 months This isn’t forever. Your allergy comes from Kapha + Ama, not weak lungs. If you take the right Ayurvedic medicines, your body will stop freaking out over dust, and you’ll breathe easier again 🌿 Warm Regards Dr Snehal Vidhate

HELLO, In Ayurveda, this corresponds to -pratisyaya/kanthashotha (inflammation of throat) -raja, dhuma, and visha ahara exposure (dust, smoke, and chemical allergens) -Agni mandya (weak digestive fire) leading to Ama (toxic buildup) and low ojas (immunity) So treatment must address Ama, agni and ojas together- not just the throat inflammation. TREATMENT GOALS -remove toxins -strengthen digestion -pacify kapha and vata -enhances ojas -soothe and heal throat -prevent recurrence MODERN PERSPECTIVE -There is no permanent cure for allergies In modern medicine -However, you can desensitize the body, reduce frequency/severity and strengthen immunity. -Identifying and avoiding allergens (dust, perfumes, trigger foods) is crucial. MANAGEMENT PLAN 1) AVOID CAUSES -avoid strong perfumes, deodrants, smoke, and chemical sprays -keep home dust – free, use masks when cleaning or outdoors -avoid cold, fried, packaged, or reheated foods -identify specific food triggers (milk, nuts , wheat, eggs, seafood, etc) by elimination diet 2) DEEPAN-PACHANA (improve digestion and remove Ama) For 2-3 weeks -TRIKATU CHURNA= ½ tsp before meals with warm water -GUDUCHI GHAN VATI= 500mg twice daily after meals =detoxifies ama, balances tridosha, improves immunity -PIPPALI CHURNA= ¼ tsp with honey twice dailu 3) Rasayana (Immunomodulatory therapy) After clearing Ama -CHYAWANPRASHA= 1 tsp daily in morning empty stomach -IMMUNOCIN TABLET= 1 tab twice daily after meals for 3 months SIDE EFFECTS= usually mild or none, but avoid in -autoimmune conditions -pregnancy/lactation -severe gastritis or hyperacidity EXTERNAL TREATMENTS 1) WARM SALT + TURMERIC GARGLE= 2-3 times/day =reduces throat inflammation, clears mucus 2) STEAM INHALATION= boil water with tulsi , ajwain, or eucalyptus oil, inhale vapors for 5 min =open nasal passages, reduces congestion 3) NASYA= instill 2 drops of Anu taila in each nostril daily morning =cleans nasal cavity, prevents dust allergy 4) HERBAL TEA= boil tulsi, ginger, cinnamon, black pepper, honey = reduces cough, strengthens throat 5) OIL PULLING= gargle sesame oil for 2-3 min morning =improves oral hygiene and throat health HOME REMEDIES -Ginger- honey mixture= 1 tsp twice daily for throat relief -Turmeric milk= at bedtime for inflammation and immunity -Tulsi + giloy juice= 2 tsp each morning on empty stomach -Black pepper and honey= for dry cough -Avoid curd, cold milk, ice creams, refrigerated food- these aggravate kapha DIET -warm, freshly cooked food -moong dal khichdi, vegetable soups -turmeric, ginger, black pepper, cumin, garlic -herbal teas= tulsi, cinnamon -fruits like pomegranate , amla, papaya, guava -warm water throughout the day AVOID -cold,heavy, oily, and fried foods -bakery, cheese, and curd (especially at night) -processed food, soft drinks, ice creams -non veg food during active allergy phase -late night meals and irregular eating habits LIFESTYLE AND DAILY ROUTINE -SLEEP= sleep early before 10:30 pm, wake up early -EXERCISE= light yoga or walking daily -HYDRATION= warm water only avoid cold -AVOID EXPOSURE= wear mask outdoors, avoid body sprays, incense, mosquito coils -CLEAN ENVIRONMENT= keep room dust-free, use air purifier if possible -STRESS MANAGEMENT= practice meditation; stress reduces immunity YOGA ASANAS -bhujangasnaa= opens chest -matsyasana= improves throat circulation -shashankasana= relaxes body -surya namaskar= general health improvement PRANAYAM -Anulom vilom= balances doshas, purifies nadis -Bhastrika= strengthens lungs, clears nasal passage -Bhramari= soothes throat and mind -Kapalbhati= cleans reparatory tract Permenent cure is not instant- but Ayurveda works deeply By improving digestion, detoxifying, and enhancing immunity, allergic reactions reduce significantly and may even stop Consistency is key= continue medications, yoga and diet for at least 2-3 months DO FOLLOW HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL THANK YOU DR. MAITRI ACHARYA
